I believe this is what it comes down to as well. Unless the Pelicans are in love with Siakim.

Highly doubt we'd even get a sniff at A. Davis. This just reeks of Lebron and his partners' tampering so he goes to LA.

Also we're already taking a risk with Kawhi so why give up more assets for a player that may not even stay? If we give up more good young players and draft picks and we get nothing in return we will be bad for years. I don't know it seems risky (assuming we have any interest at all).

Still believe once JV comes back he will help us a lot with his size, his position and consistent scoring. A top 3 Eastern team at least with a chance to go to the finals.

Not that bad of a risk really.

All the young guys expire this year or next outside of Norm.

We already gave away this year's pick.

AD is signed through next year as well, so if Kawhi leaves, flip him.

Pelicans are in no hurry, Celtics can make the best offer. Lakers have the closest ties. I'm putting money on one of those two teams.

If you're the Lakers why not just throw everything you've got at NO for AD?

To Lakers: AD, Miller, Diallo, Clark, Frazier, Williams (salary fillers)
To New Orleans: KCP, Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Wagner, Zubac + 2 future 1sts

If you're the Lakers you now know AD is re-signing, and you can finish the year with some vets who will sign on for the minimum before you really go for it next year. Meanwhile, if you're New Orleans, I don't think it gets much better than that.

Raptors went from non-factor to one of the wildcard teams after they realized they're one of the few if not the only team that would actually pay up the strong assets (Siakam) even at the risk of it being a one or two year thing.

Because we're all-in already. If Kawhi leaves, we won't get this close to contending for a championship for at least another 5 years or more. It's now or never.

Huh? Masai either makes this deal now or never. You don't make all-in moves after the pot is already shipped. If they wait which is a poor decision, then they get less.

The deal can be officially consummated once Kyrie resigns. But they could announce it during the draft and it doesn’t go through officially until after the new year starts. It happens all the time.

No, because he's still signed for another year. And Boston can theoretically offer the best package, and so if they wait until the off-season they'll get the best deal.

I agree Raptors, if we were to pull this off, would need to move now. Won't happen.

The Los Angeles Lakers would have to start with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and a 1st round pick in a potential trade for Anthony Davis, said a source close to the deal.

Davis' agent Rich Paul stated that Davis asked for a trade from the Pelicans.

Paul has not given the Pelicans a list of preferred destinations, although he will inform interested teams of whether Davis would sign a long-term extension with them.
