Well LeBron did start singing the "Rewind" song on his instagram a few days ago and directed the song to Kyrie. Mabye their plan is for Lakers to trade for AD and then in the offseason sign Kyrie (AD and Kyrie are tight as well).

So they can’t trade him to Boston because Davis and Kyries contracts??
They would have to trade Kyrie to bring in the Brow??

Several teams told ESPN that they're already weighing the possibility of making offers for Davis, including contenders who'd be willing to use Davis to chase a championship this season and perhaps recoup assets lost in a trade to New Orleans by flipping Davis at auction after the season -- or keeping him into the final year of his contract.

Sounds like us

1) we are all in this season - "use him for one playoff run"

2) recoup assets by trading him again- "kawhi left"

This is so us! No other team competing for a championship would go all in for this season.

Houston would, they have been looking. I think the contending teams could be Toronto, Houston and maybe OKC

Every one of the players mentioned in trade packages for Brow is a complimentary player though. Every single one of them is looking more like a tier 2 or tier 3 star than someone who will someday be a top 15 nba player.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Yeah, I dont think the players will make the difference. It will be the drafts picks.

NO is smart to wait until Boston can make a trade. They can put together the best package.

ya but you have to see the skeptical aspect cuz Siakam just suddenly turned into this player in one offseason. you would have to say to yourself, if Siakam wasn't a Toronto Raptors, I see him for who he is, he doesn't have a strong projection to be more than a very high end, complimentary player. and he's the oldest in the bunch. Right now, Kuzma and Ingram are complimentary players as well but scouts and talent evaluators say they can be more than complementary players if they ever reach their ceilings

Kuzma and Ingram project have higher ceilings because of what they already have done and their age. Sure they may never get there but I'm certain if the Raps had Kuzma and Ingram, we'd be saying their potential is higher than Siakam. without a doubt.

And then all these guys being offered have to be like, "well, why am I giving up touches to play for a team that fully intends to trade me in the summer?" And then Demps also has to believe that Danny will stick to his word when he might have something hot on the table at the deadline.

Gonna dive into more game theory here (let the Twitter jokes fly).

You simply can't make decisions based on player remarks anymore. Player media savviness combined with their changing cultural attitudes towards legacies means that it's worthless.

All these guys have already decided what they're going to do, or will do so come the offseason regardless of what they may have said in the past.

As a GM, you now simply factor in what will make your team better and let the chips fall where they may, since you can't base your assessments on public player information.

Will a DeRozan trade forever damage the relationship between Lowry and the org, and also harm his play? Who cares, you have to try to make your team better and go from there.

I thought he wanted to play a contender.

If he wants to contend for the lottery, he should stay with New Orleans.

Definitely calling bull on him wanting to contend. He literally just wants a big market and the fame and "quality of life" that goes along with it. These new school NBA guys get on my nerves.

Agreed. Winning is clearly secondary.

I actually think any trade with Irving going out/AD coming in won't make them better, because they'll get compromised value for Irving now that he's a UFA. It won't be a 1:1 talent exchange. AND, what NOP wants is presumably young building blocks. So if Boston gives up those AND Irving just simply because they can't have Irving+AD on the same team, they're taking a hit of some kind.

Depends what else you're giving up in that 3way that might push the trade out of favour. The limit being basically AD ending up on a team that's no better than what he has in NO, and him forcing his way out again.

But that bar can be really high. Upgrading from your generic all-star (Kyrie) to a real deal MVP candidate (AD) is massive. Look what it did to our team.

NOP incoming: JV/Siakam/OG/Wright/Miles/Richardson

TOR incoming: Davis/Mirotic/Miller

Lowry/fvv/lloyd
Green/powell/mccaw
Kawhi/Miller/mccaw
Davis/Mirotic/boucher
Ibaka/monroe

Sign Dedmond and Lin at the buyout

Lowry/Lin/FVV
Green/powell/mccaw
Kawhi/Miller/Mccaw
Davis/mirotic/boucher
Ibaka/Dedmon/moose

Comparing to Lakers deal:
JV>>zubac

Siakam=Kuzma

Delon=Ball (maybe not potential wise, but as of right now they are the same, with delon having better efficiency . If you dont agree check both of their per 36 mins stat)

OG>>>KCP

+ Miles and Richardson AND saving 8 million in cap space.

I.m.o Pelicans should strongly consider this trade, the longer you hold onto him the worse his trade value gets. If my offer above doesnt get it done then i would even throw in 1 st rounder.

This is important because i think this seals the deal of Kawhi resigning as well as making the finals for consecutive years. And for whatever reason he doesnt resign we can flip AD for a lot of good assets in the summer.

They're all complementary players ultimately. I thought Ingram would be special and was a fan of his since high school, but he's like another Gerald Green to me now. A guy with superstar talent, but there's something missing. Kuzma is a role player plain and simple. OG is meh at this point, but Pascal is clearly the best of the bunch. He's a secondary player as well, but he's one that can defend all 5 positions depending on the specific matchup. He's more valuable than any of these guys to any team that wants to build a winner. He's also a good, but not great offensive weapon, so he likely doesn't hurt anyone's chances of finishing with a high lottery pick should they start a rebuild with him on the team. By the time you get your stud at the draft, Pascal will be the veteran on the team and still have his prime years remaining.

Lebron woke up this morning to the Lakers sitting 2 games out of a playoff spot with Philly next on the schedule followed by a 6 game road trip, so he decided to call on his homey Rich to expedite the process. No doubt Davis is a Laker by this time next week.

Return to Toronto Raptors
