I would rather see Bertans tbh... Dirk is an instant-loss. He is going to make a fool out of himself out there.

Also, Dirk is boring AF. I don't give a **** if he is a legend. He isn't playing well any more. The allstar weekend is for the best players to show off.

Give it to people that deserve it.

No he won't. Guarantee he hits at least 15 points.

And Dirk boring? Dirk has one of the best personalities in the NBA.

He should just automatically make it. It should be a rule that the leading percent shooters in over 3+ attempts a game should get in automatically.

well all star weekend is terrible anyway nowadays (when was the last time we got a big name in the dunk contest, like an actual superstar or an emerging one, same for the 3pt contest).

Spurs fans starting a petition with a name ''Let Bertans shoot'' lmao.

And I don't blame them :)
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Haha, really funny.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but Bertans confirmed w the media that the NBA, through his agent, said he didn't get invited because he isn't shooting enough 3s.

Worth pointing out that Bertrans slayed the Wizards in that game with his sniping..

I can't see a compelling argument for Dirk over Bertans, but even a washed Dirk is more interesting than the Seth/Steph hometown brotherly love rivalry the NBA seems to think we should care about. Steph is a pretty boring superstar, and Seth barely belongs on an NBA roster. Where's all the complaining about how the fans shouldn't select starters for the ASG?

Also, who would have thought a Morris brother would be shooting 42% on 5 3pa 4 years ago? Or even last year? Get this man into the contest.
It's time for 5 refs.

Bertans is an absolute sniper and definitely should have gotten an invite. I don't see why they can't just expand the first round and invite a couple others

Talk about made up outrage. Like anyone really cares if everyone gets an equal chance at a fun Saturday night exhibition for the fans. It’s called the all-STAR weekend. Dirk’s been a star for 20 years and he’s getting one last moment in the spotlight in his final season. He’s earned it with over 1900 3-pointers made and the fans want to see him one more time. Seth Curry is an exciting young shooter with a natural storyline, a career 3-point percentage of 44.3% and was leading the league in 3-point shooting as recently as a week ago. If Bertrans is shooting hot this year in an offense that doesn’t focus on the 3-ball, who cares? Ain’t nobody tuning into watch him outside of San Antonio or maybe Latvia.

Top 3-point shooters in NBA history, minimum 250 makes:

1. Steve Kerr .454
2. Seth Curry .443
3. Hubert Davis .441
4. Stephen Curry .438
5. Drazen Petrovic .437

It’s not like the boy can’t shoot.

NBA denies league-leading 3-point shooter invite to 3-point contest

Post#117 » by Paradise » Thu Jan 31, 2019 2:01 pm

The NBA can be embarrassing at times. This is going to be one of those times. Dirk has no business in there. Joe is 2nd behind Seth in the league 3PT percentage.

It's the NBA...what isn't "fixed" is broken beyond repair.
