What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
Is he your savior for bringing 2 MVPS. FMVP's, CHAMPIONSHIPS and overall relevancy to Miami in four years?
Or is he hated on for leaving miami and going to CLE?
Where does he rank within the Miami heat all time players (i'd say second, although if he stayed there for 2-3 more years, he'd likely would have been ranked higher than Wade IMO.
I'm curious to see this.

Re: What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
I think we got Lebron's best basketball, and I, for one, am grateful. We knew it wouldn't last forever. I'm glad he got the Cavs a title.
Lebron ranks 4th in points for the Heat, though he played here only 4 years. He is 10th in rebounds and 4th in assists. But our real season is the postseason, and Lebron ranks 4th in playoff games played, 2nd in points and assists, and 3rd in rebounds. Plus, the basketball played was just sick af.
We've had a lot of great players in Miami, so it's hard to know where Lebron ranks, but he is very much revered. We retired 33 for Zo, 10 for Timmy, and 32 for Shaq. I think it's clear that along with Wade, we'll see Chris and Lebron's jersey hanging from the rafters too, along with Haslem's (easiest choice, by the way).
In my personal opinion, in impact for the franchise, Lebron is 3rd, behind Wade and Mourning. Shaq is probably 4th. Then Haslem, Hardaway, and Bosh in some order. It's too close to separate them.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

The first question is precisely what turns me off from the guy. Wade is the savior who delivered us our championship. Im sure LBJ is grateful he got to come down here for college and learn how to be a champion too.

As a Heat lifer, the Lebron circus was toxic and mentally exhausting. Sometimes I'm not sure it was worth the rings. Lebron came here, stacked the deck, had little competition, choked and left when the going got tough. It felt like a show. I do like LeBron but the experience here felt cheap at times. The 2006 ring cannot be topped. That was heartfelt. Although, the series with the Spurs was the all-time best finals series without the suspension nonsense from cavs/warriors 2.
Im curious to know how Wade/Bosh would have fared alone.

Re: What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
If Lebron had told us ASAP that he was leaving instead of waiting for the team to awkwardly sign overrated, underskilled vets to try and surround him with more talent, then my opinion of him would never have decreased. Stringing the org along was disappointing.
That negative opinion has softened over the years. We did get his best years, as gom alluded to. We've also proven that we can build a debacle of a roster regardless of his ambiguity, so it doesn't really matter anymore.

To me, he is the best player to ever put on a heat uniform and the second best player in the history of the game.
Where he ranks in the Heat echelon though- given his lack of time here he is not above guys like Wade and Mourning. Even when he was here, Wade was more beloved by the fans. Feeling with Lebron was more hired gun than anything else.

Great talent. We got to to experience greatness of a top 5 all time great at his peak. But him being a mercenary opportunist leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.

Maybe the NBA GOAT. Clearly better than Wade, but the short stay makes him ineligible for team GOAT. Not a savior, not really hated ... but not really liked either. I'll defend him if I think he's being attacked for dumb reasons, but my opinion of him is that he's a passive aggressive bitch that harms his team and his own chances to win in the longer term by trying to be the team GM.
To be honest I wasn't thrilled when we signed him, and wasn't really sorry to see him go. He clearly helps more than he hurts in the short run, but I have no stomach for his drama. I probably like him better on another team because he's not in my face 24/7.
Personally I would have preferred to sign Wade and Bosh and given Wade a chance to bring home a 2nd ship as "the man" ... even if that didn't work out.
I'd love it if he managed to beat the Warriors this season (good luck!) but once he assembles the next Lakers super team, I'll probably root against him.
So basically ... it's complicated.

So many great times when Lebron was here, but a lot of bandwagon fans too. Miss those days

Re: What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
I respect what he did for us. Helped to deliver us two championships. It was tough at first because our 2011 squad had a rough start to the season + couldn't win it all. But everything ironed out well for the next couple seasons.
When he left in 2014 I wasn't disappointed at all. Kept my Bron jersey, didn't burn it like some others did.
Went to actually see the guys play in 2012 at the Prudential Center, at one of the last New Jersey Nets games. We were down by a bit because Kris Humphries had a career night in the wake of no Deron Williams and no Gerald Wallace. But of course we had no Wade. Nevertheless, that man, King James, came back in crunch time single handedly with some leverage via Rio and Bosh. Nailed the game winning jumper, followed by free throws, and spectacular defense. Amazing to witness.
So when he departed, he got my salute on out. All the great moments from LeBron when he was with us... I'll never forget and will always highly regard.

I appreciate the two rings. Even if he left kinda bad the rings more than make up for it IMO. I don't root for him now though.

Re: What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
I've never understood some of the anger towards LeBron; disappointment? Understandable whenever you lose the best player in the world who is also arguably the G.O.A.T. in his prime. But anger? I don't see why. He has never bad-mouthed the organization and the only guy who he seemed to have issues with was Pat, who has had issues with others. (Shaq, Wade, LeBron, Payton, etc.) Riley is extremely demanding and his style is not for everyone.
He absolutely deserves, and will have his jersey retired one day. I mean, they retired The Big Ego-Maniac's jersey even though Shaq only gave the Heat one truly dominant regular season - 2005 - and one productive, but not great, playoff run in 2006.
I mean, LeBron was also a really popular team-mate in the locker-room, unlike Shaq, who became the biggest locker-room problem in NBA history in 2008.
I still maintain Shaq didn't deserve to have his jersey retired (He deserved it more in Orlando) and I still am amazed that he wasn't ordered to stay away from the team in 2008 when you consider all the stuff he was doing behind-the-scenes during that 15-win season which included quitting on the team, demanding a buy-out, insulting Riley, refusing to cooperative with the medical staff, running out Stan van Gundy, etc.
I also can't believe that he has, to this day, never been asked by anyone whether or not he regrets forcing his way out given how he became a journeyman after he complained his way off the team.
Very rarely has an athlete fallen from grace like Shaq did from 2007-2011; he was on top of the world in 2006, then just totally destroyed everything with his awful behavior after that.
I think LeBron deserves a lot of gratitude for what he did for the Heat.

Overrated player who is all about "me me me"
Opportunist. Quitter. He intentionally sulked and sabotaged the 2011 Finals because Wade was going to win the Finals MVP.
If I could do it over, I'd have Lebron keep his ass in CLE in 2010, and run with a Prime Wade + Bosh + whoever, and we would have won titles anyway.
Prime Wade > Prime Lebron

Neutral feeling.
Loved that we vacuumed his peak prime years and harnessed two titles out of it.

Re: What do you heat fans think of LBJ?
We knew it would end and he’d go back home, but the way he conducted himself left a sour taste.
Honestly, I never really liked him, but I respected his game and what he’s done for the sport. Helping us get the two rings was huge for he club. If Riley has been the bigger man in the situation instead of trying to out petulance him then it would have looked worse, but everyone loved the “going home” angle too much.
He didn’t need to poison the well, but he still chose to. I’m fine with him telling Pau not to commit because he was leaving, but he should have also told the team and allowed us to retool properly or at least get the S&T we had to give up to prevent tampering allegations.

Excellent physique and skills. Too selfish to be a great team player. He was lucky that Wade and Riley taught him how to win a title. Would take Wade over him any day of the week.
He was no saviour, we'd already won a title before he arrived, he's a great player who could've been the greatest if his ego didn't keep getting in his way.

Still believe prime Wade was better. Glad we got to enjoy both.
