yes, other teams can offer more but can they still be a championship team after trading for him?

I don't see any teams out there that can trade for AD and still be a championship level team

Pelicans Trade: Anthony Davis, Mirotic and Jrue

Raptors Lineup:

AD/Mirotic/Monroe
Siakam/OG/Boucher
Kawhi/McCaw
Green/Delon
Lowry/Jrue

Hmmm....

It’s funny, because initially I put this in as a pipe dream but it is actually pretty interesting for NOP. This Trade let’s them drop over $74 million in salary in year 2021. In the meantime, they get relatively younger while evaluating what pieces will they want to invest in. These two years they also position themselves for a high draft pick...not as far fetched as I originally believed.

Lol no way in hell that happens. NO's doesn't even listen if Siakim is not in any proposed package. Lol at they would give you Davis nd Jrue for JV Ibaka, Powell Fred and CJ. That is laughable

I don't love the Lakers offer. There's nothing concrete there that you can count on. They'd better throw everything at NO in order to land AD. And of course Boston has the ability to make great offers in the summer. But if you're Demps and are looking to save your job which you somehow still have. Are you really going to want to deal with Ainge in the summer knowing he'll likely be trying to pull a fast one on you? I like the LAC offer if SGA and picks are involved.

Maybe I haven't watched enough Lakers games and am hyping the Clippers games I've watched but I like SGA better than anything the Lakers can offer individually.

Plus the contending team needs to be able to move players and picks and be ok even if AD leaves in a year. We would be because we have massive amounts of cap space coming.

The only team other than Toronto that I can see doing it is Philly but they'd have to give up Simmons.

Of course, we are taking about contending this year and onwards. If AD is fine not contending this year it's a different story (as much as he can control where he goes).

Where are all of the 'Masai screwed up b/c he didn't bust his load for Jimmy Butler' posters at?

This is exactly why you don't trade appreciating young assets for fringe stars that represent, at best, a sideways move.. be patient for true needle movers, like Kawhi.. Davis.. etc...

New Orleans has a lot riding on this deal, like potentially the future of the NBA in that city. I can't imagine Siakam would be the centerpiece they'd be looking for as a return. Then again if they're actually interested in what the Lakers can offer, a glut of underwhelming prospects, maybe it's possible.

Is it possible/likely to get AD without giving up siakam?

I view this as a 3 horse race between us, Lakers & Clippers.

I don't see any other team putting together the assets while still thinking they are legitimate contenders and/or would have a shot to keep him.

The optimist in me says New Orleans wont trade with either LA team, so.... bring him home??

I find it weird that some in the media are trying to convince themselves that the Lakers' young players have much potential.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Great point. There's very few teams that can recover from the loss they'd suffer by gutting their roster for AD. Fortunately, we're one that can. Unfortunately, so are the Lakers. Hopefully Demps gets hard headed and refuses to deal with them because of the tampering.

I think he ends up in Boston during the summer. Jayson Tatum alone is worth more than anything other teams can offer

If I am NO manager I will not trade AD to laker , I am not going to let them take whoever they want . Especially the West, same reason Spurs rather trade Kawhi to us. So I think anythung could happen, and it is depend what kind of package we give up

Not even in our dreams. But that is why Masai kept him and OG out of the Kawhi trade, so that he can try for another star player.
This is his chance, he is definitely all over this like butter on a pancake.

Now it remains to be seen what NO prefers.

Agree I really don’t see why they rush to trade him, they are not going to playoff anyway. Better listen more offer .

With Davis's camp putting out that he is not interested in Boston similar to what Kawhi's camp did with us.

I don't see Ainge giving up his core players for a player who doesn't want to play with them. Kyrie would have to be off the team, Tatum gone, is that a team AD would want to stay on? I don't think so, so why would Ainge give up everything for someone who doesn't want to be there and also lose Kyrie, he may as well just try and resign Kyrie. This is not going to happen, unless AD has Boston on his preferred teams.

I really don't think Boston will be giving up a crazy package unless AD indicates he wants to be there, which doesn't seem like its going to happen.

The NBA has to step in though.

This is getting ridiculous, and the odds of collusion are so damn high. Like this is bad for the league as a whole.
