He is the only reason I watch Wizards games. Too bad I missed this game.

The guy is a massive ball hog playing for another contract, he’s totally washed now, not much better than Oubre. I’d rather see Troy Brown playing 30 minutes a night. Sato was BY FAR the wizards best player. Just dominant out there, creates everything for them on O.
The spurs shot 47% from 3 and made an absurd amount of contested 3s, no shame in this loss. That 43 point 2nd quarter was still a thing of beauty. Need Dekker and Mahinmi back for defense, rebounding, and energy.
Still think this type of rotation represents a massive flaw with Brooks/direction of the franchise. Porter and Brown jr should be the guys playing 35+ minutes, not washed up journeymen like Ariza and Green. Those guys are hardly even net positives at this point. Green is barely an upgrade from Morris. Bryant still doesn’t play nearly enough, even with multiple rotation guys out. The ONLY focus of the remainder of the season should be building the chemistry with the Sato Beal Brown Porter Bryant core, nothing else.

That's going to happen in the playoffs - if they make it. Granted, it would have been helpful to have a healthy Dwight Howard last night. Too many times, Jeff Green had to cover LMA, and he had no chance.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the outcome of last night's game to make a determination about Ariza's future with team.
Bertrans singlehandedly won the Spurs that game and it really wouldn't have mattered whom the Wizards had out there last night.
Assuming the Wizards sneak into the playoffs, do they have a legit shot at anything other than a first round exit? No, but they're hell bent on getting there so **** it.
I like the idea of Ariza sticking around primarily on the off chance that the Wizards manage to bring him back for a few more season.

Bertrans is an amazing shooter, and I don't blame Ariza for him going off. But I do think the Wiz in general covered him poorly. You basically can't let him breathe when he gets the ball. I'd much rather have him penetrating aound a defender covering him too tightly than getting a clear look from 3. The Wiz were giving him just a few inches, but that's enough for him.

Trevor Ariza has a -0.5 DBPM with the wizards, BY FAR his worst figure of any season in his career. His defensive rating is 114, never had a figure over 108 in his career. He ranks 69 out of 89 SFs in defensive real plus minus this season. Jeff green ranks 79 by the way. Troy Brown ranks higher than both of them. This is just defense, his offense has been outrageously bad.
The wizards play 4 good players, Bryant, Beal, Satoransky, Porter. Mahinmi and Dekker are solid, everyone else is absolutely terrible. They need more quality depth, starting with actually playing TBJR. If it were up to me:
Sato Brown Jr
Beal Brown Jr
Brown Jr Ariza Dekker
Otto Dekker Green
Bryant Mahinmi Green
