THE Chasson Randle thread -- at last!

Post#1 » by payitforward » Tue Jan 29, 2019 4:12 pm

Chasson Randle called me last night to demand his own thread.

"I've played almost 300 minutes," he exclaimed. "I'm shooting the 3 at 43.9% on 5.65 attempts per 40 minutes -- that's the best on the team. My TS% is almost 60% -- come on, that's good!"

"I'm not crapping the bed like Austin Rivers -- & Rivers got his own thread, so I want one too."

I was dumbstruck. Where'd he get my number? "I attended Stanford," he said, reading my mind. "I know how to track people down. Ok... I called Sergey Brin. He had no trouble finding you."

I couldn't believe he'd bothered one of the two founders of Google over this. It must be really important to him. So I told him I'd start one in the morning.

"Good thing, PIF," he replied. "Sergey was planning to send a few of his Russian friends around if you needed convincing."

You better help me out, guys.

Lol.
On a serious note...some one/faction within our FO has an eye for talent. Brown Jr, Robinson, Randle, Bryant, Dekker, etc. All low level moves that are turning out really good. The biggest thing is you see guys that play hard and have a high IQ.

Clearly a breath of fresh air from Morris, Oubre...and sometimes Wall

I hadn't really looked into Randle's background until now.

Dude was an Academic All-American at Stanford! Very impressive!

ONe thing I liked about him the other day; he got beat on defense twice in a row, but instead of going into a shell, he hustled his arse off the next play and caused a steal. I don't think he's a rotationa player in the NBA on a good team, but he's proven he defintely belongs in the NBA and glad the Wiz gave him a shot.

Depends on what you call a "Rotation"... Other combo guards that Randle is as better than and play for contenders:
Felton - 11MPG
Schroder: 28MPG
Rivers: 28MPG
Quinn Cook: 15MPG

-3.9 BPM, negative VORP, 0.60 win shares per 48. He’s 49th in RPM for point guards.

He’s not as annoying as Rivers, Burke, Thornton, and whoever else we played over Satoransky. Brooks doesn’t play Randle over Sato, that’s why we like him.

Based on his numbers as a Wizard this year, Randle is in the lower half of all NBA guards in productivity per 40 minutes. But, he's not down near the bottom.

& his salary is $868K. For any team, but especially one that's in tax territory, that makes him a bargain.

On a “serious note?”

C’mon. Our trustee comrade PIF is being threatened by the founder of Google, is being chased by Russian spies and is a person of interest in the Mueller investigation.

I’m about to start a GoFundme campaign to help the brother afford a body guard and a lawyer.

Finally! A sympathetic soul.... After all the abuse I take here.

Chasson did say he would protect me, however -- if I spoke nicely about him.

He had terrific outings vs. Golden State & San Antonio. Unfortunately, in the intervening game vs. Orlando, he had 9 horrible minutes.

Jordan McRae told me he demands you start his own thread.
