Telling NO why would we trade all our assets for a player who's publically saying he will not be here in 2 years doesnt seem smart. Even if you're betting the house.

Everyone in this topic should realize that if the Celtics trade for AD and beat everyone else's offer that the most likely trade scenario would have the Celtics trading Tatum, Brown and Smart for AD. It's the most likely and the one where the money actually works.

The only other way would be to involve Horford or Hayward both which is very unlikely in my opinion.

I suppose this might belong in a trade thread or something, but am I crazy in thinking we could get Nikola Vucevic for 25% of the Anthony Davis cost? I also have a problem with hoarding so this may be influencing my thinking. I just don’t want to part with Tatum/Smart or the Memphis pick. Come to think of it I like the Sac pick to, and Jaylen Brown. Meh, can’t part with Gordo either. What if he shakes the rust off? I just don’t like the eggs all in one basket box Anthony Davis puts us in. Let the Lakers dump all their assets for him. When LeBron goes over the cliff, they’ll be in the the NBA wasteland again for years. And that cliff is closer than we think.

But they’ll have another star by next year beside Davis. At least 1 top 5 guy and probably another star or superstar. That’s unfortunately not a wasteland. It’s so much easier for the Lakers.

Naw, we’ll want to include Hayward to free up cap space to sign others. Lowe said on his podcast that he believed NO would want Hayward, too, as its a great buy low opportunity on a star with only 2 years left on his deal.

It’d be Hayward+Tatum+4 or so firsts. We then resign Morris.

I could be wrong but on Lowe’s podcast they said if the Lakers trade everybody the only contracts they have next year are LeBron, Davis and the Deng stretch, which still leaves them short of a max slot, so someone has to come in at less than max money. This trade ties them up for the 3-4 years with zero assets and only the allure of the beach and Hollywood as selling points.

What else are they going to spend their money on? Its like Gerald Wallace was to us, a means to get more picks for the rebuild.
