Re: Anthony Davis Requests Trade from NO
Doesnt it work to the celtics benefit if Davis doesnt wanna be here for negotiation purposes?
Telling NO why would we trade all our assets for a player who's publically saying he will not be here in 2 years doesnt seem smart. Even if you're betting the house.

It definitely takes leverage away from NO. Dangerous game to play though, NO can just turn around and pick the Lakers offer if we get too close to it by trying to low ball them.

Not of they're mad at the Lakers for tampering.

Be careful what you wish for.
Lol but in all seriousness, we likely keep one of those guys. If not, well, generational mvp level talent. Smart, Tatum, and Brown are not that.

Come to think of it I like the Sac pick to, and Jaylen Brown. Meh, can’t part with Gordo either. What if he shakes the rust off? I just don’t like the eggs all in one basket box Anthony Davis puts us in. Let the Lakers dump all their assets for him. When LeBron goes over the cliff, they’ll be in the the NBA wasteland again for years. And that cliff is closer than we think.
But they’ll have another star by next year beside Davis. At least 1 top 5 guy and probably another star or superstar. That’s unfortunately not a wasteland. It’s so much easier for the Lakers.

Then it just pushes them towards another team. It’s a tricky play. I’m glad we have DA at the helm.

Right. I’d love to keep one of those assets but I agree that that would be a very likely deal.

It's going to be near impossible to keep any of those three unless you include Horford or Hayward which I think is very unlikely.

Naw, we’ll want to include Hayward to free up cap space to sign others. Lowe said on his podcast that he believed NO would want Hayward, too, as its a great buy low opportunity on a star with only 2 years left on his deal.
It’d be Hayward+Tatum+4 or so firsts. We then resign Morris.

Merely a question here, but can we use a player as a salary ballast like Keith Bogans was used?
Sign our player to X contract number and trade them within the package?

I could be wrong but on Lowe’s podcast they said if the Lakers trade everybody the only contracts they have next year are LeBron, Davis and the Deng stretch, which still leaves them short of a max slot, so someone has to come in at less than max money. This trade ties them up for the 3-4 years with zero assets and only the allure of the beach and Hollywood as selling points.
Han shot first!

Re: Anthony Davis Requests Trade from NO
Doesn't make sense for the Pelicans to take a deal from Toronto. But can AD say no to a trade himself to another team? I mean it's freaking Toronto man.....they just smell like desperate ass.
I still hate that AD signed with Klutch but I think Lebron's agency knows Kyrie is in bed with AD (but not literally)and Lebron is so desperate he is singing drunk to Kyrie on IG. Lebron singing "rewind" just wreaked of pathetic desperateness and I agreed with Skip Bayless even on that one.

We'll see. Have a hard time believing rebuilding New Orleans wants anything to do with $30 million Jiri Welsch 2.0

Don't know. I do know that Ainge and Zarren are a hell of a lot smarter than I am with this stuff.

Holy **** is keeping Mook a way to appease Klutch in the end? I mean we play the guy this year too like he's one of our real core.
edit: would it be Tatum/Smart and picks galore?

Re: Anthony Davis Requests Trade from NO
Is it possible that the Lakers power play this summer is exactly what we want? That could ward off less ballsy teams and lead to us getting AD and keeping Tatum (annnnnnnd Smart?)? JB, all the picks, time lord, Hayward for AD?

He's a name player and you could argue he will be a lot better next season.

No, S&T rules were changed a few years back to make it much harder to repeat that situation moving forward

What else are they going to spend their money on? Its like Gerald Wallace was to us, a means to get more picks for the rebuild.
