Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
If AD is going, let's go after Holiday. He's 28 with 3 years left @ $26M per, but short of landing a Kyrie or Kemba, he'd be a good fit during those years.
The deal that works in the trade checker: Dunn, Portis, Parker. Before folks jump all over me, if I'm NO, I'd dumping Niko anyway to a playoff team. Alternatively, we could include Valentine instead of Portis.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Bleacher Report put out a Bulls trade package. I'd do it in a heartbeat IF AD agreed to resign.
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Wendell Carter Jr., Chandler Hutchison, Jabari Parker, 2019 first-round pick (unprotected), 2020 second-round pick (from Memphis, via Chicago), 2021 first-round pick (top-five protection)
Chicago Bulls Receive: Ian Clark (must consent to trade), Anthony Davis, Tim Frazier
Hard to imagine any Anthony Davis trade scenario, whether it's realistic or not for the Bulls, that doesn't involve Lauri Markkanen

Scenario: If Bulls get #2 or #3 pick. Something good enough to entice New Orleans
Bulls trade:
Zach Lavine
Wendell Carter
2019 pick swap with NOP
2020 top 10 protected 1st round pick.
Pelicans trade:
Anthony Davis
Hopefully able to take someone like D. Hunter the draft.
We go in to off season currently looking at:
PG: Dunn
SG: Valentine, Blakeney
SF: 2019 First Rounder, Hutchison
PF: Markkanen
C: Davis, Felicio
BUT... we have upwards of 50 mil in cap space. Ideal scenario would to get Kyrie. Overpay maybe to pry Brogdon away from Milwaukee as they are going to have some decisions to make with Bledsoe, Brogdon, Middleton, and Lopez all becoming free agents. Back up plan, Danny Green. We sign a cheapish back up at F/C. Go into 2019 with:
PG: Irving, Dunn
SG: Brogdon/(Green), Valentine, Blakeney
SF: Hunter, Hutchison
PF: Markannen ( F/C 2019 2nd rounder?)
C: Davis, Felicio

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Mock trade, inspired by Bleacher Report's trade package and Lonzo Ball's camp requesting to be traded to a third team if Pelicans/Lakers trade talks escalate:
Bulls receive: Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (expiring)
Lakers receive: Anthony Davis, Tim Frazier
Pelicans receive: Kris Dunn, Jabari Parker, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, Lakers 2020 first round pick, and 2020 second-round pick (from Memphis, via Chicago).
This trade works on the ESPN NBA Trade Machine. Would you do it? Who says no?

Dunn and filler for Ball. I'd do it. The FO won't. They gotta be afraid of Lavar making noise.

I don’t understand ANY of the Ball hype. Dunn has disappointed this season and I’d still take him over Lonzo. I just don’t think its feasible to rely on a PG who only shoots 41% from the free throw line and has limited chances of improving his outside shot with his ugly mechanics. Dunn isnt a shooter either but at least he can knock down a free throw and really gets after it defensively. Lot of people pumping up Ball’s trade value but I don’t think he will command nearly as much as Lakers fans are hoping for in a trade.

Parker doesn't need to be traded. Bulls can just walk away from him at the end of the season.
Why would we choose to let him walk for nothing? He needs to be traded ASAP and he should be on the court trying to improve his trade value in the meantime. This has been one of the most maddening experiences I have witnessed as a Bulls fan. It shouldnt matter if the coaches dont like him, he has been playing somewhat decently lately and he should be on the court auditioning for other teams. There are plenty of teams who could use a scorer off the bench (Jazz, Pacers, OKC). We gain absolutely nothing by keeping him around til the end of the year.

Bulls will be recycling that PG position for a while. Personally, I think Chicago should just run two scoring guards. It's gonna be a while before they get someone good.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
IMO, there are a few obvious pieces that don't fit with the Bulls longterm plan that have some minor trade value. Those pieces are:
*Jabari Parker
*Bobby Portis
*Kris Dunn
*Denzel Valentine
Any trades made should leave the Bulls with enough capspace to possibly sign 1 FA in 2019 and 1 FA in 2020. Any trades should also look to add future draft picks or young talent.
The first trade I would propose is Bobby Portis for Zhaire Smith. Philadelphia is in win now mode and Portis can come in and help them win now.
The second trade I would propose is a little more complicated than a 1 for 1 swap. It would look something like this:
Chicago Receives:
Marvin Williams
Tony Parker
2019 1st
Charlotte Receives:
Jabari Parker
Kris Dunn
Denzel Valentine
2 2nd Round Picks (MEM)
Bulls are able to obtain a veteran point guard to help lead a young underperforming "core" and a 1st Round Pick. Charlotte clears cap to go after a guy to pair with Kemba Walker, while getting some insurance at PG if Walker leaves in FA.
Bulls will have enough capspace in 2019 free agency to sign a player like D'Angelo Russell who has really turned it on this year.
PG - D'Angelo Russell / Tony Parker
SG - Zach LaVine / Zhaire Smith
SF - 2019 Draft Pick / Chandler Hutchison
PF - Lauri Markkanen / Marvin Williams
C - Wendell Carter Jr. / Cristiano Felicio

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Two things, maybe three.
Duke played in Chicago and Jay Bilas said it was going to be a very weak draft, like 3-4 top picks and then not much of a difference and not much quality. A number of teams looking to trade OUT of the 1st round. So getting picks outside the lottery might be a possibility but the players to be found there might not be worth all that much to every team.
So first I'd look for those teams that want to trade out of the draft and maybe trade those expiring contracts of Lopez and Parker. Get an unpolished player who you have time to develop.
Don't even consider trading the team and a top 3 pick for Davis. So who is Davis going to play with when h gets here and will he resign??? One thought is that NO wants to wait until the off season to see what BOS would give up once they have some luxury cap space to fit Davis in.
My plan would be to make a deal with BOS for Gordon Hayward now so BOS would be able to make their Davis trade now. Expiring contracts of Parker and Lopez as part of the deal, maybe even a threeway trade with NO. Maybe even get a late 1st round pick either BOD or NO doesn't want to keep.
Davis supposedly doesn't want to come back to Chicago but that doesn't mean the Bulls can't get themselves involved in getting him where he wants to go.

It goes without saying that AD isn't coming here and it would make no sense to trade for him.
Jrue Holiday would be worth picking up but I think other teams closer to being good would be willing to add more positive value to a deal to snag him.

Per Wiretap:
LOL
I would do Etwaun for Felicio and 2 second rounders.
The New Orleans Pelicans have made Nikola Mirotic, Julius Randle, and E’Twaun Moore available following Anthony Davis' trade demand.
The Pelicans are looking for draft picks in return, according to Zach Lowe.
Mirotic is a free agent this summer, Randle has a player option, and Moore is signed through the 2020 season.

That just makes things even harder to move Jabari or Lopez. I'm afraid this is going to be a very quiet deadline, unless we actually move Dunn or Portis.

Would you trade Cristiano Felicio (-), Lauri Markkanen (+), Kris Dunn (+), & 2020 1st Round Pick (Lottery protected) (+) for Jrue Holiday (++)?
I would consider it if the Bulls got the #1 pick (Zion Williamson). Especially if Jabari Parker can continue to string up some game where he plays like he did tonight. 22 Points and 9 Rebounds! Experiment with Zion at the 3. If it doesn't work out then Parker's contract expires and the Bulls will have enough cap space to make a pitch at a big free agent and Zion can move to the 4. Hopefully Zion is good enough to help make that pitch a little easier.
PG: Jrue Holiday
SG: Zach LaVine
SF: Zion Williamson | Chandler Hutchison
PF: Jabari Parker | Bobby Portis
C: Wendell Carter Jr.

I would insert WCJ instead of Lauri. Even then there are a few teams that want to contend now that can probably trade for Jrue today.

No way. Lauri & a future 1st for Holiday? Too much given his age an contract. I would definitely do Parker, Dunn, Hutch and a lotto protected 2020 1st though.
