Well, she hasn't been around long enough for WWE to ruin her yet. They'll probably run it into the ground now that it's over. That's what they do. Take cool, organic things and make them suck by having Michael Cole scream them forty times a night.

If you want to bury anything in this universe (even some of the coolest things in pop culture right now). Have Micheal Cole talk about it constantly over 1 raw.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
WHAT THE ACTUAL ****, NAKAMURA LOST TO R TRUTH
and then to top it all off, Rusev Jobs to Truth
They're both gone (AEW for both is my guess), when you're losing to R-Truth, that is when you really need to consider your position in the company, no wrestler who is decent and has an ounce of respect for their career would stand for it.
Nakamura also tweeted WCW afterwards (it sure felt like Vince Russo was booking this crap). Of course the responses where mostly Cody Rhodes and Cody impersonating Ted Dibiase
Also that should be a warning for the entire New Japan roster (or at least the ones who have flirted with WWE in the past like Ishimori and Sanada). If Nakamura, the most popular wrestler in japan of the 2010's (up until he left) a 3 time world champ, the reason the IC title exists and the #2 (hell, the 1b to Tanahashi's 1a) can get buried like this (and it is a burial, losing to R-Truth is a burial at every level), nothing is sacred to this company. May Kushida stay in NXT forever please (just keep him away from Vince McMahon).
I didn't watch smackdown. But from reading it, this isn't the New Era, this is WCW circa 98/99. Are we sure McMahon didn't hire Russo as head booker cause this show seems straight up of the Russo playbook, and then when people complain, Russo will call people marks and say belts/wins don't matter.

I mean, if you're signing with WWE, you're probably doing it for the money. It just sucks that we see so many guys start to phone it in in the ring like Styles and Owens once they get tired of the crap booking.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
It's funny because I thought of WCW when they threw the tittle in the trash...
All these years of watching and I've never seen so many talents and fans truly fed up and have enough. It's like
everyone has reached their breaking point and with the threat of what AEW could be talents finally have some
leverage.
For most wrestlers (unless you're from Mexico or Japan) you grew up watching WWE and it was your dream job to
work for them and hopefully be in Wrestlemania. It's interesting that so many of them are not happy and would rather
work in Japan, the Indies or the unknown of AEW.
Beckys promo was interesting tonight though... She was on the WM preshow last year and was never handed anything
and she's become the hottest thing in the industry and might very well main event the show this year. Guys like
Drew, Ali, Jinder etc. are also examples of guys coming from out of no where.
It's hard for me to feel bad for Deam Ambrose who's been an upper card guy since the day he arrived and is part
of one of the most famous factions in history and is a former World Champion still I give him props for having the
balls to leave if he's fed up. I feel more bad for guys like Ziggler, Ryder, Rusev etc and wish they weren't so complacent
but hey anything could happen even Jinder becoming a Main Eventer out of nowhere.
But I personally blame Shane, Steph and HHH for this entire mess because they should be responsible for keeping
Vince in check instead of just sitting back letting him drive the company into the ground with record low ratings,
unhappy talent wanting out and bad PR from stuff like Saudi Arabia.
Shane near 50 years old is still trying to win his fathers approval and trying to prove he really is passionate about
the business and Steph is just the biggest mark ever of her father and probably protective. HHH is the only one
who seems to at least challenge him and debate him on stuff but knows his limits and how stubborn Vince is
and how Vince really believes he's a creative genius and knows better then anyone else.

I understand doing it for the money (fair enough) but at some point you got to put your foot down and say no, this will do more harm than good. Jobbing to R-Truth is probably that line.

I would say yes. But if they go the route of Sheamus/Cesaro, it’s taking two more potential main eventers and putting them in the tag division for a while. It’s enertaing (the Bar is fantastic) but keeps guys from reaching their full potential.
To a lesser extent I think Big E has suffered as well. He has main event talent. New Day is fun, but he should be up the card.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
Nakamura losing to R-Truth isn't the burial. He wasn't supposed to get the US title back, he was used as a plot device to get Lana off the RR. But putting him in the tag team with Rusev may well be the actual burial.
I don't know what's wrong here. Maybe it's Nakamura's performances in big matches not up to snuff, or whatever, but it seems like they are giving up on him being a singles draw for now.

Re: WWE SmackDown Discussion II
So I’ve been thinking about who is going to face Bryan at WM. There isn’t an obvious option. I don’t think it will be AJ and Ali is too soon. Jeff Hardy and Orton, no way. I don’t think it will be Joe, because the last thing you do with a heel as good as Bryan is to go with a heel/heel match.
I think Cena may be the guy here, and Bryan will go over him. Story is easy- involve the Bellas!

I think they've already planted the seeds for a Cena/McIntyre match at WM. I think Bray Wyatt is a good choice now that they've put Erick Rowan with DB.

What if Bray comes back with Harper? And that's how they start feuding...

Kobe Bryant was asked who he feels is the toughest opponent to guard in the NBA. Instead of picking OKC's Kevin Durant, Bryant went with Portland’s Brandon Roy.
"Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game."

I’m very down on Wyatt in big programs- he just hasn’t delivered in the past.

I think Cena is working a program with Drew, personally.
Smackdown's lack of depth and long term booking biting them in the ass with both their champions. Daniel Bryan is doing great as the heel champ but every viable face is either a solid midcarder or doing something else (AJ v Orton at Wrestlemania seems likely). Asuka is basically an absolute MONSTER again, but everyone else outside of Charlotte and Becky are complete geeks, not credible opponents at all, and Charlotte and Becky are obviously going for Ronda (well, not officially obvious with Charlotte yet but you already see them halfway there)
They need some sort of shakeup in the worst way, or to find a gimmick in the next 2 PPVs to move some RAW people over to challenge the champs.

I don't really see how it's good for Rusev at all. He was the most over man in the company not too long ago, and instead of capitalizing on that and pushing him as a face, WWE did nothing with him and went out of their way to cool him down, and now they're pairing him with a partner that everyone has already turned on for mailing it in the past two years.
Further, Rusev is wasted in a tag team, as he's already got a ton of charisma, has shown the ability to be a good worker, always manages to get himself over, and can work the mic. Literally no reason why he shouldn't be one of their top singles stars. Vince just seems to resent people who get over on their own. I'm honestly surprised they caved on Becky and just said to hell with it and pushed her. Guess they figured fans were going to openly revolt if they didn't, which is probably true.
[quote="LLJ"I don't know what's wrong here. Maybe it's Nakamura's performances in big matches not up to snuff, or whatever, but it seems like they are giving up on him being a singles draw for now.[/quote]
I mean, what has anyone seen from Nakamura since coming to the main roster that makes him deserving of a big push? He hasn't had a single match that has been better than good. Beyond that, they had a chance to put the main title on him last year at 'Mania, and several times after that. Like with most guys, if you keep putting them in big matches and then have them lose, the fans stop caring. We've seen this happen to dozens of guys, including Rusev (who did manage to come back and get himself over again, but it took him years after Cena buried him).
