Enes Kanter to SI hinted that a big FA was coming to NY.

"I actually do have an idea [of who will sign], but I cannot really tell," Kanter said. "It's a secret, but it's going to blow people's minds when he signs. I can't give no hint because I'll get burned big time."

KD I'm guessing, probably why NY wants AD so badly to pair with him.

Then again he said two free agents to the Knicks in the offseason, so not sure he's the best source.

That or a franchise that has failed consistently for 20 years under one of the worst owners in sports history.

See: Anthony, Carmelo. Stoudemire, Amare. Marbury, Stephon. The list goes on.

Although KD is better than all of those guys, of course.

Come on man, their management is much better now than it was when Melo was in New York. They have what seems to be a solid structure in their front office. They have nice young pieces and a fantastic market that will always be a destination to marquee free agents.

James Dolan still owns the team though.

Kanter and KD don’t seem to have the best of relationships right now. I guess he could had overheard, but I still think it is a weird thing for him to say considering how much he seems to dislike KD.

Then you gotta remember Kanter spoke during the summer that he felt Kyrie and Butler would sign with he Knicks in 2019. Shrug

But yeah I have been thinking KD to NY for some time now. Especially after all those KD Bill Simmons podcasts. Lots of NY talk in those podcasts with him..

One of the best cities in the world, that will have no problem eating their own when things go south,..
One of the biggest markets, the kind of exposure you dream of... until it's walls are closing in from every angle; their laughable ownership running your career into the ground, just like they've done with any decent player they've had this side of Marcus Camby..

Who cares. Irving will be back. We may get Davis and we may not.

**** the Knicks are getting Scary Terry?

Well to be serious I had forgotten until this afternoon about Kyrie's dad Drederick Irving who btw despised Lebron and his people and has a lot of sway in Kyrie's life. I think the LA rumors are ridiculous.

And as we both know NY would be second to Boston in the end for them.

The Knicks Scenario

Post#131 » by jfs1000d » Thu Jan 31, 2019 12:55 am

Guys. Knicks are gonna get Kemba Walker. He is from the city, huge knicks fan and can be face if franchise with Porzingis. Do that, and then take a shot at a stud wing.

And I would trade Porzingis and their first this year for Anthony Davis. Just saying.

I don't think they even need to dump anybody as long as they give up on Kyrie.

With pick, KP hold, Knox, Mitchell, Noah stretch and 8 cap holds: $43M.
Add Lee & THJ: $29.5 - $2M cap holds: $70M.

$39M under the cap, enough to sign KD.

Pick, Knox, Future 1st, THJ, Lee FOR AD & Solomon Hill.

The max/match on KP.

KD, AD, KP, Mitchell, Hill. Fill in with MLEs, vet mins.

Trade Hill + pick as an expiring for somebody.
Can always flip KP at next year's deadline too to balance things out.

Lance Thomas has $1M guaranteed which starts to push this scenario close to rounding differences with a max KD signing.

And Steve Mills inexplicably is still president of the team. He and Dolan ruined the Knicks. But they are making better decisions now.

So you think he doesn't want stars to come to the Knicks and help turn them into a relevant team?

I think he wants to be the main guy. I think he wants it to be his team.

Above all, I think he’s tired of the Knicks and their dysfunction and will use this as leverage to get out. Rumors are already flying that he’s again pissed at their FO because he wants to play this year and the team wont be doing so. This would be his golden ticket to exert his leverage to get out.

Zinger is a good fallback for AD if we need too.

Aka "I would love to stay in a great city like NYC and win, but I hate this f****** franchise and I swear if you trade me to New Orleans to play for another crappy team I'm going to flip out."

Even off the ACL tear, would love to have Porzingis. Danny wanted him bad at the draft a few years ago too, just the price was way too high.
