Yeah sure Lakers mouthpierce, ok

Yup. Just as I had predicted earlier - the good old "Take our offer now, because if you don't, we will go after other players and free agents".

Pels response to Magic should be:

Told everyone is was just theater.

You don't generally take your star out of all your promotional stuff midseason if you expect to hold on to him through the end of the year. The Davis camp is upping the ante by letting it be known that he won't re-sign with anyone but LA, thus destroying his value for anyone but LA.

Except teams that can outbid LA are not dissuaded by that.

Isn't this good for us (assuming it's true, never heard of that dude)? LA out of the way, we don't have to put nearly as much on the table and AD would probably set his sights on Boston.

This "AD or bust" attitude is stressful. Lots of people already convinced that Kyrie is walking otherwise. The stakes are sky high if that's actually the case.

The NBA is. Its club basketball now. Players holding teams, cities hostage. The NBA needs to make some changes structurally or you will have like 4 fan bases. If your a Pels fan you realize ur likely never getting a player like AD again.

Well since you are the only person I have seen say there is no future without AD, then what I have to offer isn’t worth it. I will just say this. What about KD? It was close 3 years ago. I could see that happening.

It’s not all Ainge either. Were Wyc and co not a large part of the Kyrie deal?

Wasn't close with KD. Won't be close when he signs with NY, either.

Revisonist history I see. I say having a meeting, being one of 3 teams is close.

Told you months ahead of time that he was probably headed to the Ws. Just like I told you months ahead of time not to worry about a historically-elite Red Sox in the playoffs, and the Mueller investigation being a potentially fatal thing for Trump's administration.

Anything else you want to be wrong about? Want to go to Vegas so I can bet on the opposite of what you say? I'm down.

Yes, but they are trying to put pressure on NO to do a deal now, or risk getting low-balled in the off-season without LA there to prop up the other bidders.

Their problem is that even their 'godfather' package is still kinda crappy.

**** it. Kyrie and a few late first to the Knicks for Zinger and the pick. Run out our crew that got to the East coast finals last year with Zinger and Hayward in the fold and then draft whoever you get in the 1-7 range (depending where they fall). Let Davis go wherever. We will do well short term with that team and will be our own super team I’m 2 years.

The idea of Lebron/Rich Paul getting what they want pisses me off.

How did this thread go from the pelicans will probably wait, to let's trade Kyrie because we aren't getting AD. Can everyone relax, we truly do not know what's happening behind the scenes.

Honestly, would be hard to resist such offer right now. Woj kind of hinted that Ainge wants to keep Tatum. So maybe there's some uncertainty about what exactly Celtics will be ready to give up while Lakers are ready to give everything here right now.

If Porzingis is healthy, more likely to stay long term and significantly cheaper than AD...I wouldn't be too disappointed with him as a consolation prize.

This just in, Lakers offered everything they could, Pelicans returned their phone call but nothing substantive.

Meaning, not going to Lakers, if lakers are out of it come next offseason, cheaper for us.
