Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVII
Would it make sense for the Wizards and Pacers to swap Beal and Oladipo?
Given the injury situation and age(Beal a year younger) - IMO the Pacers should add an incentive.
Adding Ariza for Evans(it looks like he has struggled this year) could add cost savings and make it even more enticing for the Pacers.
Has Leaf shown enough to be a valued prospect? I imagine Sabonis would be untouchable.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVII
I thought their goal was to reach at least the 2nd round, now it's just the playoffs. Well, if Ted's serious, it's very likely Ernie's gonna make some win-now-move before deadline to save his job, something like Morris + 1st for whatever.
****. Ted is so clueless. Just get under tax line (save tons of money), fire Ernie & Brooks and make more money next year with better roster & personnel. (I'm a professional, I know what I'm talking about.
)
Edit: Just noticed this, kinda off-topic but whatever:

Welp, even before his injury, Dipo was not having anywhere near the season he had last season - leading me to believe that last season will be the outlier of his career. I don't see Indiana being a Beal away from contending for the East Conf Champ, so I don't see a Beal/Dipo and assets trade having any legs.

Mahinmi, Morris, our 2019 1st and 2020 2nd round picks to NO for Randle, Mirotic, and Miller.
We are playoff bound baby!

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVII
The next second we have is in 2023. A 1st is needed to dump Mahinmi, so basically you're offering Morris + 2nd for Randle/Mirotic/Miller. I wonder what the Pelicans think about that?
By the way:
Crazy times! Imagine if Ernie somehow manages to trade Wall for Porzingis.

I don't know if you guys have seen this one but, according to one of our beat writers, Tony Jones(writes for the Athletic), the Wizards have “significant interest” in Derrick Favors:

Weird.
NY seems to love the guy. Why would he want to be traded? He's too young and not yet good enough to be playing the "I want to play for a contender" card.

He's going to Dallas. It was something like Smith + Matthews + Jordan + 1st for Porzingis + Lee + Hardaway. Wow. If the Knicks don't get Zion and miss big name FAs then it's another wasted year.

Well when our owner says we aren’t dealing any of our max players, we aren’t really going after him.

It’s because the Knicks organization is a clown show. Have people forgotten that they tried to trade Porzingis on draft day last year? This rift has been forming for a while.
Now they’re the worst team in the league and have zero direction, other than hoping for a 14% chance at Zion. I commend Porzingis and other future players who step up to expose poorly run franchises and exercise their leverage.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVII
Mavs turned Trae Young and Dennis Smith Jr. into Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. That's INCREDIBLE.

Re: Official Trade Thread -- Part XXXVII
This might affect the deal, we'll see. However, if the trade happens, Knicks could have over 70M in cap space. Let's pray they miss KD, Irving etc. and trade for Wall because they're even worse organization than Wiz. Though it would be #SoWizards that Wiz feel like Wall is untouchable and still "the guy" in our team so he's here for good.
Edit:
It's happening.

I guy I know who's proven pretty reputable... yes I have sauces!
But seriously, the guy is telling me KD has already met with Knicks brass quietly and has already tried to sell Kyrie on coming to NY. I knew NY was desperately trying to create two max slots... although I'm surprised how quickly they gave up Porzingis to do so.

This really puts a damper in my favorite "dump Wall" scenario. Those bad contracts of Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. were perfectly sized to be traded for Wall (saving the Wiz $7M in the process).
Now, we're going to have to hope that one of the under-the-cap teams strikes out in free agency and gets desperate for a star player. I guess there's still a chance that the Knicks only land Durant without either Kyrie or Kemba joining him, leaving Wall as the next best option.
I wonder what Dallas is going to do about a PG. They can run the offense through Luka, but you still need a penetrator and on-the-ball defender at the 1. I don't see them wanting Wall though.

If true, that's blatant tampering.

Oh definitely. But I was told this 2 months ago. So the fact the Knicks sacrificed Porzingis to create two max slots tells me this is legit. Plus the guy is the one who Kev confirmed was correct about the Wall/Lakers rumor.
