Look at what we are paying to Lou and Montrez and look how efficient they are. Harris should not make more than twice as much as Lou.

We should make an offer, but if he can get more money, so be it.

Couple of thoughts.

1. Can't let the main piece of the Blake trade leave for nothing. I think either a new contract or trade makes more sense.

2. Didn't he already turn down 20 mill a year?

He played for us for a year and a half, I think that is a return.
He turned down $20m, yes, and I think that would have been overpayment. Here is the thing; we are not in position to have Gallo and Harris eat 40% or more of our salary cap. Unless we get stars in rookie contracts, we cannot build a contender with the remaining 60%. We can only build a team that has a WCF ceiling.
If we were able to trade up and get Luka in the draft instead of Shai and Jerome, for example, we could sign Tobias, have Gallo, and add one of the max guys in FA this summer, and be a contender.

Also if we are going after Durant or Kawhi, there is no need to sign Tobias. If we get Kyrie or Butler, than yeah maybe he could be a complimentary piece, but again that team would have WCF as a ceiling, and even Paul, Blake JJ, DJ team didn't get there.

If Durant? That is a big if. How many in their prime superstar UFA have signed with the Clippers in their history?

I think Gallo only has 1 more year on his deal.

If a Tobias contract can not be agreed upon doesn't it make a lot more sense to trade Tobias?
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D
