This is why nothing at the deadline will surprise me. We could end up with Anthony Davis or trade Adams for Boban.

I was a Knicks fan before the Soncis moved to OKC. The Knicks make bone head move after bonehead move. I had enough. Once the Thunder took Russ (who I wanted the Knicks to get) with the 4th pick in the draft and the Knicks made another bonehead move I dropped the Knicks and went with OKC. I am so happy I made that move. Not only do respect the hell out of Presti but they run the organization. The Knicks are a joke and a laughing stock in the league. Now if they get KD and Kawhi, its a different story.

The new GM, seemed a little better but this is not ideal to say the least.

Frank Nicotine might be available one has to assume.

In their defense, they did probably win the trade with us.

The Waiters for Lance Thomas one? Sure. But, that's one trade and that pick ended up being #26 overall. So its not like they WON.

Well if the Knicks FO isn't VERY confident to get 2 stars this offseason, they are definitely the worst FO ever (well even if they could land some big FA they still could have done a better deal)

I actually think this move is pretty sneaky underrated by the Knicks. Assuming Shams is correct, Kristaps was going to leave the Knicks anyway.

Further they get a first round pick, and can now tank like crazy for Zion. This also opens up 75 million in cap space. Zion, Dallas 1st, DSJ, Knox, KD, Kyrie/Kemba is pretty legit

I’ve wanted him in OKC since the draft.

With the new lottery odds, you're not gaining anything by being worse than bottom 3.

He's a restricted free agent, so it's not up to him. As I said before, I wouldn't give the max to Porzingis so I don't blame them to trade him. I just think they could have made a way better deal.

I think they will wait the offseason before trading him

According to Shams, Kristaps is taking qualifying offer and will become a UFA

Never mind. U were right. Dallas is gambling too (well they wanted to get rid of DSJ anyway)

Yes, but they are in a dogfight with Cleveland, Hawks, Suns, and Chicago. This easily makes them top 3 worst

Let me further clarify what I mean by this. Giving the THJ contract was stupid and had they not signed him to this deal they would not have had to trade Kristaps to get this deal done. However, if they knew Kristaps was planning on taking qualifying offer leading to UFA, then it basically meant that he was leaving the Knicks anyway. If that is the case, then they got out of two bad contracts, added TWO firsts, opened up a mountain of cap space, and further helped themselves stay in worst 3 position in the draft.

Wasn’t kp’s acl tear serious enough that there was concern if he would even make a full recovery?

Pretty much. Also a lot of concern because of his size. Curious to see if Porzingis is really going to become UFA and how much he will get.

Think the trade wasn't that bad for the Knicks if they knew KP was gone.
