If you are going to quote me, actually quote me. Don't pick and chose your words and then change mine in order to spin your narrative.

I said "That’s a shame. I THINK he’ll suck".

I expressed an opinion. You positioned it as if it were a statement of fact.

Do you watch the dunk contest? Do you understand the difference between an in game dunker and a dunk comp dunker?

Doesn't mean I like Bridges any less or that I am attacking him, just means I don't think he'll do well in a dunk comp.

Oh, well, I mean, saying "That's a shame, he's gonna suck" is SO different than "That's a shame, I think he'll suck."

Yep, really going out on a limb there. If you don't like someone calling you out for a ridiculous comment (not only do I watch dunk contests, I've personally seen him do insane stuff outside of the game atmosphere, and I'm more MB hater than supporter), maybe don't make ridiculous comments.

Odd to attack you on this subject. You've been one of his biggest fans since day 1.

Odd to call someone a fan who says "that's a shame" (direct quote, no positioning there) to his being named to the dunk contest. Be glad he's in it if you're a fan. It's stupid to think he's gonna struggle when we don't know what's up his sleeve.

Is it a shame when Kemba has a big game, because we're such chicken littles that we should hope he sucks so he's more likely to stay? Actually, no one answer that. I already know the answer.

C'mon folks, let's try to focus more on Miles Bridges and less on opinion holders.

Miles got miles to go. On most teams in the league he’s not even in the rotation but we’re going thru a rebuild with a playoff push due to bad contracts and our best player’s impending free-agency so he gets to play by default.

Off the bench... for a different team. He'll be used as trade bait to get kemba help... that doesn't actually help.

A soon-to-be 21 year old that is 47 games into his rookie year....I'll wait to pass judgment. I think he's our starting PF by the end of this year. He's shown enough flashes for me to be positive.

id feel the same if he didnt need huge improvements inall parts of his game

people need to ask, if he wasn't an explosive leaper - what would he even be doing?

If I had to guess, I would expect that he has been told to focus on defense. His DRTG, DBPM, and DWS are all better than his offensive numbers.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'm getting worried about his shooting, but he still should project as at least an above average shooter. His shot has started to look wonky in the last couple months after looking pretty smooth to start the season. Its got me shook, but his shot looked smooth in college and he was 127/339 (37.5%) from 3pt for his career and 93/109 (85.3%) from the ft line in his sophomore season. I'm hoping this recent slump is a short term issue that has more to do with his confidence.

I think he'll be a good finisher. If he can develop a little bit of an off the dribble game and a halfway decent offensive repertoire, this could actually be a big deal. I think he'll be at least an above average passer, but like his finishing, how useful that will be will also be dependent on how the rest of his offensive game develops. If he ends up being more of a role player, these will at least be nice little bonuses.

I think he'll eventually be a good defender, but it could take a few years and he projects as more of an all around defender than an actual stopper.

his finishing scares me because he can never just take the two points. its gotta be a dunk or some kind of ridiculous display of why. i just want the guy to tap the ball in and cut like he knows what a basketball court looks like. he's TRASH off ball.

my whole thing is - just be better than jeff taylor

Yeah, he makes things unnecessarily difficult at times and now that teams have started focusing on stopping him from cutting and getting on the boards he looks lost. He hasn't developed any counters so teams can just sell out on stopping the couple things he should be good at right now.

I don’t’ understand the doubters of « miles’ finishing »

This kid can finish the same way with both hands... he knows how to finish. He just need to learn how and when to attack against nba caliber defenders.

I think the 11 points and 7 rebounds he had against the Knicks will be the norm fairly soon IMO.

when he's not dunking, he's throwing up bs - and part of it is because of what you say. he doesn't know when or how to attack. why? because he doesn't know where to be on the court.

the other part is that he can't do simple stuff. when's the last time someone saw him just put a hand on the ball and tip it to himself? if you can tip slam stuff from 3 feet away, then you can get in front of a bigger guy and keep a ball alive. he's either not aware he can do that with his athleticism, or he simply doesn't understand that acrobatic dunks aren't the whole game

like why is it so hard for him to be a roll man? easy answer is because once he gets bumped before his gather he's completely lost and the play is dead.
