I thought you were kidding in that other thread.
KP has battled injuries but he's an all star on a rookie contract. You can't trade him as a sweetener for cap space. That's absurd. Call his bluff on the QO. Sell him on the team by making the right moves.
It makes it worse that the Knicks chose to hand out those dumb contracts.
Those picks are coming in 2021 and 2023. And the Mavs aren't the Billy King era Nets. They have legit star in his rookie year along with KP + one of the best coaches in the league + a winning organization. Very unlikely those picks are near the lottery.
A clean slate is nice. Cap space is nice. But they're the laughing stock of the league at the moment. No chance any star signs there with no players or infrastructure in place built for winning.

I would call the Knicks, Clippers, or Lakers if i were Ainge and see what they are offering.
KP is the guy mavs wanted badly for quite some time and when the opportunity came they just went for it. It looks like they were ready to overpay just to make sure they actually get him and not some other team.vincecarter4pres wrote:I hate how good that trade is for the Knix. Mavs are building a team and not just getting good players together and hope everything works. KP with Doncic is a perfect fit, Dirk legacy, and even logo ...

After just starting a 6-8 month rehab for born spurs in his ankles. Wall ruptures his achillies tendon after slipping and falling in his home. He’s out until 2020 at the earliest.
Damn.
