Woj said that there are 7 max slots now in LA and NY. No way is Kemba staying unless we do something. Also no way Kawhi is staying in Toronto.

The only reason Mitch might still be able to get some value for Kemba is because of his low cap hold. That will be really valuable to the teams trying to sign multiple max level players this summer.

Yeah I have a feeling we’re going to make an inconsequential move just to make a move. Something like Kaminsky and Bacon for Terrrence Ross or whatever

Frank for Thon Maker.

...One flawed late lotto player for another.

Maker could provide a long defensive presence, can hit the open three and IMO has a bit more upside than Frank, even if he is in fact a couple years older than advertised. Like his shot blocking and unlike Biz, he is also quick enough to play the 4.

Frank is royalty in Wisconsin and could provide them some insurance at the 5 spot as a floor spacer at C if Lopez leaves.

The Nets with Kemba and Durant or Kyrie and Durant or even Kyrie and Harris added to that core would be sick. Easy title contenders. They would have to consider it

Honestly this isn’t worth the hassle for us. We need to be looking for a deal that can actually make a difference. Frank expiring contract is worth more than this.

Irving is one of my least favorite players in the league. dude forces a trade away from lebron because his ego cant handle being #2, goes to boston (a big market/historic team) and gets to be the guy on a top team but now he is going to leave them anyway.

Could also go into our game thread, but there's a lot of smoke around a potential Conley for Rubio+ move right now.

The more I think about it the more I think Jrue Holliday might be perfect for next to Kemba. He can handle the ball, guard the best guard on the other team, good size, efficient scorer and good passer.

He can replace Lamb and give us a second allstar type player.

Not sure what all it would take to get him but I might try a combo of Lamb, Willy, Biz and our first.

I was just about to post that I think small tweaks are needed to get us into Pacers territory and upgrading Lamb and Biz's starting spots would be perfect (Sending Zeller or Biz out with Kaminsky and Bridges or Monk to get a Jrue or Gasol)

Gasol yes, Holiday... IDK. He's making Batum money for the next 3 years. Definitely gives value for that money, where Batum doesn't.

I haven't watched enough of Holiday, so my question would be is he that much of a better player than Lamb if we were to offer Lamb a new contract this summer? Lamb is 3 years younger and already has chemistry with Kemba. Lamb can also play some small ball SF which we need more depth at.

Holiday is better than Lamb. Much better playmaker, he would be the best passer on the team and he is a better defender than Lamb probably.

Lamb will probably get 15-18m per year. Holiday gets 25m per year. Its probably worth it, but we would need to move Nic IMO. We cant have 2 non-stars getting that kind of money.

I wonder if Mitch will trade up in drafts? We know Cho wouldn't (although Higgins was still here) except to draft Biz. Mitch was sitting on the front row to watch Ja Morant play last week!

How would the team trade up that high?

Hopefully Mitch can pull a rabbit out of his hat somehow like getting Pau Gasol to the Lakers. I realistically have no clue how but I'd be unbelievable!

They are apparently turning down trade offers for him. New Orleans is one of the worst run franchises in history! New Orleans as a whole is a dump, they'll probably blame the NFL officials for AD's trade request!

I'd take that. Ross is an expiring and we get rid of Kaminsky's carcass. We can decide on whether to keep Ross or not, but at the very least it gives us an explosive wing player to put beside Lamb and help us this year a bit. Not so much on the defensive side of the ball, but again, we are giving up next to nothing in this deal for a starting SF/SG.

I think he would thrive in JB's offense. Maybe make another move to bring in Gasol and we would be in that 3-4 tier in the East, IMO.

Kemba
Lamb
Ross
Bridges
Gasol
