I guess you’re a Celtics fan and the fact that Kyrie staying is your dream but reality is he never chose to go to the Celtics but he did say that he wanted to be a Knick hurts your feelings I understand I’ve been there before

I’m not sure how my kid got an account on Real GM but rest assured his mother and I will be looking into it.

This is about the least concerning thing I've seen today. Davis is a grown man. You think he gives a crap about what his dad wants him to do? Lol

You'd be surprised how influential relatives/friends can be to some players. Kawhi's uncle, Kristaps brother janis just to name a couple.

Reggie Rose.

Different sport, but former Cardinals outfielder Colby Rasmus had a father who thought he should be his sons personal hitting coach. Dad would blame the team for his struggles and the team would blame his dad. Ended up getting shipped out of town eventually lol.

That has to be one of the stupidest statement I’ve read recently. Wtf you want the Celtics to do keep Isaiah Thomas when he’s injured and pay him max dollars to go nowhere? Ainge never promised IT he’s going to keep him long term or pay him. Other gms like the raptors and clippers have done a lot worse recently with fake promises. At least Ainge put Isaiah on a title contending team where the hell did Blake Griffin go and DeRozan to a trending down spurs team? Is the Lakers trying to trade Ingram, Kuzma, and ball about loyalty? Davis himself wanting out, is that loyalty when you still have a year in your contract?

We also gave Jeff Green a two-year deal when he had possibly career-ending heart surgery..

So everything is hunky dory in Cs land? Nothing came out of today to make waves? Nah... :banghead:

My take on Mannix has no relevance to how I feel the front office might be feeling. They are exclusive in that he has no connection to to organization but didn’t seem very upbeat about Kyries future in Boston.

I should have clarified that I suppose.

IT was also a bad advocate for himself with the "Brinks truck" stuff - you can't give him a max contract, he didn't deserve a max contract, and you can't risk that he leaves if he doesn't get the money he wants.

I just hate that our organization is getting **** on here for making tough, but necessary moves to make the team better. Literally what they are paid to do.

It's stupid, but all this stuff - surprise news stories, powerful people making major hundred-million dollar decisions, high-stakes drama - kind of reminds everyone what the world is like. Especially the short-term, everything is a business, no loyalty or attachment or sentimentality cut-throat stuff.

Agreed. Well that and Steven’s latest comments. How Kyrie said “some good things about Boston as well”. Yikes. Literally nothing positive. AD wanting to not come to Boston (reported by non Boston writers I know) and Kyrie this morning.

Ok, how does Ramona Shelburne have AD's dad's phone number? Why are they texting each other? Sounds like a scam.

Imagine missing out on Anthony Davis because our GM was doing his job. Someone tell AD to look in the mirror. Demanding a trade mid-season isn't loyalty.

Yeah and some of the fanbases that s*** on us are Raptors and Sixers fans. Like they do realize Kawhi and Butler are as likely, at minimum, to leave right? There've been tons of rumors about them, but hey, Boston is the topic and the media hate ensues.

I want Bill Walton to give a tearful hour-long speech about John Wooden that gets all the owners and players to write a new loyalty-themed CBA. You could probably tie roster/payroll continuity to the salary cap, MLE, luxury tax payments, and some modified version of the supermax/fifth-year stuff that's less all-or-nothing.

Whelp, it’s not like Lebron or Durant are bastions of loyalty in their own right. Make the deal, hopefully the old man comes around

Return to Boston Celtics
