Westbrook only 10 shots and 1 3pt attempt is the best part of his game tonight

I was ready to give up on this team after that rough stretch of games two weeks ago, but they have done a complete 180. Hard to believe this is the same team that lost 5 of 6 games....four of which were losses to bad teams.

This feels like the best stretch of ball that an OKC team has played since the KD years.

Meh, the team under Donovan has consistently gone on winning streaks followed by losing streaks.

The Philly and Portland wins were good, but otherwise it's just beating teams they should.

Uh, Milwaukee?

I'm looking forward to slick saying PG going back into the game just to get the record was disgraceful. I'm sure it's coming...

For Slick....

Dwyane Wade on the Thunder: "They're built very well. With Schroder, that was one of the best trades I would say this offseason. To have Russ, PG, Schroder and Adams as your top four and other guys plugging in, doing the things they need to do, it's a very good team over there."

Much better shot selection over the last two games. 60 % of his shots have been at the rim. Just two (!) 2pt pull ups. This is what I've been advocating for: If he can't make those long 2s, he should not keep taking them, trying to shoot himself back into a rhythm.

-------------------------------------

Great game overall. It helps if multiple guys can't miss, but I still think we played very well offensively regardless of that. Westbrook especially was looking for teammates early on and they rewarded him for it with buckets. Defensively, you could see some slippage here and there, but overall I thought the effort was good, especially given that they were up 20 for most of the game.

Defensive rebounding with the bench unit continues to be a problem.

I had that same thought. We're up a million points but George is still out there.

My opinion is none of that stuff matters so long as no one gets injured. If they do though? OH boy ...

Makes you wonder what happened that finally snapped them out of it. Maybe losing to a team like Atlanta forced a come to jesus moment or something.

Yep, that's the best version of russ. If he will commit to playing like that, it extends the length of our season significantly. We all know he can but for so many years we've been saying, "if russ will just continue to do_____, this team would be so good." His passing has been so good lately.

Westbrook is absolutely a more efficient player when he limits his offensive game to 18 feet and in.

The trick is getting him to commit to this style of play for the long haul and not just in 2-4 game spurts.

As an aside, when it comes to three point shooting I've noticed that he's a much better from beyond the arc on catch and shoot shots than when he dibbles into the shot. By my guesstimation he's hitting at a 35% clip on catch and shoot threes.

It's very noticeable that he makes those shots at a higher clip. I'm assuming it's because it's a quicker shot attempt where your muscle memory takes over and you just rise and fire naturally without overthinking the shot. Whereas on a lot of the other three point shots we've seen him take in non-catch and shoot situations, he's visibly hesitant and has very little confidence in his shot.

You guys might have to come up with a new guy to bash, since grant is about as good a fit at pf they can get (but but but they traded a late frp for him!!) and Schroeder is clearly one of the best 6th men in the league, in that he can completely change the game when he's on. Not everyone has that btw. Was this the January schedule we were supposed to be so worried about? The team is really good......

Didn't we hear stuff like this about Corey Brewer too?

Nope. Maybe it's the February schedule that's going to get them..........and yes it's crazy that despite how great pg has been he's still not prime kd. Westbrook and George are the second best duo in the league this year.

Close, but no cigar. He's making 26.9 % of his catch and shoot 3s while making 23.5 % of the rest of his 3s.

because cupcake is maybe the best scorer of all time

Well yeah (or maybe not because his former teammate might be better), but I'm just speaking from an aesthetic place. It seems like George can hit literally any shot from any area right now, and even with that he still isn't particularly close to the things Durant did.

PG is playing as well right now as Durant ever did. He's much better from 3 than Durant ever was for us. He's a considerably better defender than Durant ever was. Maybe he's not quite as efficient overall, but I'm not seeing much difference between PG this season and KD in any of his OKC seasons impact wise.

KD was also doing what he did on 30-33% usage, and PG is doing it on 29%. He's also taking quicker shots and not iso-ing the hell out of the basketball, making guys cold around him.

Schröder is literally better than Waiters if he doesn't miss.

Schroder is killing teams. He's solidified himself as the best trade acquisition of the summer. He's the best 6th man among the elite teams in the league and adds a totally new dimension to the Thunder. He's a starter quality guard coming off our bench.
