And should Marks consider trading Russell for Aaron Gordon (or someone else )?

It’s a question because of Caris This is a franchise shaping big decision moment. I predict Nets keep Russell but if they do, he is likely going Tom demand a close to max contract from them his summer

If you have to decide between Russell and Levert long term you take Russell with the only exception being if 2 stars want to team up here in the summer (as then levert being on a rookie deal allows that to happen).

Otherwise... we were 6-8 with levert here as our #1 option, we are 22-17 with Russell as our main option and Russell is playing better then levet was on a bigger sample... russell doesnt have as many injury concerns and russell is younger with a higher ceiling

that said... why in the world cant you keep both?

Dlo + Caris have great chemistry off and on the court. You keep those 2 together IMO.

The Nets would be utterly stupid to break up that backcourt. if two stars want to come here you figure out how to make it work

considering that the likelihood of that is nil, we don't have to worry about any of that.

Nothing wrong with it if he did. He should be proud of himself, he busted his ass to get this far and there's still a lot more for him to do so he can't be satisfied by this either.

Those fans on the General Board are saaaaalty    dudes are butthurt over this I'm glad Russell has them triggered out of their minds.

I retract this. Simmons is a few months younger than Russell who is a few months younger than KAT.

they are all the same age it doesn't really matter

Russell might be the biggest recruiter on this team come time for his age group to become unrestricted free agents, but sure, lets have debates if the Nets should resign Russell in July while the rest of you think that Durant or Leonard are coming here.

Seeing how highly-regarded D’lo is with his peers, it’s not far-fetched to see him teaming up here with KAT & Booker in the near future...

Does anyone find it hilarious that everything Magic said D'Angelo wasn't is everything he has been for the Nets - AND everything the Lakers are currently lacking in Lonzo?

Check out this old Magic Johnson quote, and join in on the laughs:

"D'Angelo is an excellent player. He has the talent to be an All-Star. We want to thank him for what he did for us. But what I needed was a leader. I needed somebody also that can make the other players better and also [somebody] that players want to play with.

Congrats to Russell, he deserves it. It was a stupid trade back then, it remains a stupid trade now.

There's an alternate universe where the Lakers have LeBron, Russell, Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram. But I digress. :banghead:

I would love to see DLo, KAT and Simmons on Team Giannis together.

I agree. And the Nets FO would lose credibility and its reputation would take a hit around the League. That — plus Russell’s incredibly high ceiling - is why this will not happen.

But I will be honest I have always been a real fan of Russell, but I have mixed feelings about giving him a close to max deal.— I
