Buyouts

Post#1 » by snowman » Sat Feb 2, 2019 7:50 pm

Do you guys think that we will be looking at any buyouts after the deadline? Someone mentioned that we still have our full MLE, so he thought that we might be looking at someone to put on a 2 year contract, so they may be included in the AD offer.

Maybe we could list the buyouts here as they start.

Wes Matthews, DeAndre Jordan, Kanter.

Hey, if the Knicks are taking our guys, we might as well take theirs too

DAJ would be ideal. Good fallback big if the AD stuff doesn’t pan out either. If RW3 can learn the nuances of the game from Horford and learn how to use his physical tools like DAJ...

Seems like a smart dude....
If we can do that AND get someone who helps in the playoffs, that’s pretty much the dream.

I hope we get a big as our bigs have been a bit more injury prone this season.

Yeah, we're a bit thin there.
Williams is a Rookie, Yabusele is useless, and Theis can't really go up against the bigger guys.

Also, Horford really needs to be in the 4 position at times. And Baynes seems to get winded.

Looks like the Celtics are trying to Trade Jabari Bird, to free up a spot.
So we'll likely be active on the buyout market.

Whoever it is, we need to get someone who is bought out, and would accept a 2 year, 11m year deal. DAJ is probably looking for one more contract with a team he likes. he is smart enough not to give us a team option for 6m next year knowing he'd be playing for the pelicans.

I think Kanter and maybe D Favors if he's traded and bought out. Marvin Williams maybe.

I don’t really think there’s much out there that can help this team at this point.

I would like Ellington. He can shoot it. Sixers would be all over that

Ainge is most likely going to sign a buyout guy to a multiple year deal using the MLE to use in a trade this summer so he can keep someone like Smart out of trade discussions in my opinion.

Should be interesting to see what the Celtics do.

And every time we play the Heat , he also seems to be a great wing defender. Not sure if he can handle our defensive system, but a guy who plays strong 1 on 1 defense and can shoot the 3 at 38% at 6'5" seems worth it. He would probably take the 2nd year team option too.

Yes I agree with that point and it makes the most sense if we are trying to keep Smart out of an AD deal. I was thinking more in terms of an on court sense. We don’t really need much at this point, just health

If Mirotic is bought out, that's the guy I want for the Celtics.
