Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
How about Kyrie/Bird for Simmons, Fultz, Zhaire Smith flip Fultz for Bamba, then make the AD trade immediately, with Williams, Jaylen, Rozier, Yabu, Baynes and Morris and picks to NOP?
Simmons/Wanamaker
Smart/Smith
Tatum/Hayward
Davis/Ojeleye
Horford/Theis/Bamba
Re-up Theis, re-up Horford on less money, we can MLE a guard or use it to bring back Morris or Baynes..
Simmons/Tatum/Hayward/Davis/Bamba would be the size line-up..
If Hayward gets healthy, that team is good enough to come out of the east this year - it sets up a great rivalry with Philly - and if Davis wants to play out next season without an extension and then go to LA, we can trade him at the deadline next year, too.

If we get Davis (which we will), Kyrie will stay. So no.

Well maybe Phoenix would trade Jackson for Ball, that would be possible with Bridges and Oubre (if resigned) getting minutes at SG/SF.

Unless Booker is involved (which I highly doubt) surely their is no way Pelicans get involved in this one.

Yeah, I know.. except, the gap between NBA trades and NBA2K trades is getting smaller every year..

It's not high quality information.. but.. unless the Pelicans told the Lakers they like Josh Jackson, more likely LA could deal Lonzo for an expiring and the Suns' unprotected first-rounder this year, with the hope it will be more attractive to the Pelicans, or for the Lakers' own team building. Or Josh Jackson and the MIL first.. they'd be smarter to get Rozier, especially since Lonzo can't shoot right now and is most effective with the ball in his hands.. but.. he has size?

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
Yesterday it came out that the Celtics are disappointed in Kyrie. Wonder how this AD saga with the celtics develops today? Perhaps Ainge said something racist in his past. Or maybe he pushed Red Auerbach down the stairs 20 years ago and Rich Paul has the video...I'm not sure. What I'm sure of is that if the Lakers don't get AD by Thursday LeBron will raise all hell like a spoiled child

It makes sense but why would anyone want Jackson? Dude is a straight up Jae Crowder clone. Ham and Egger

Yeah I mean Ball hasn't been great, but he hasn't been Josh Jackson bad.
Like Ball can still be in the NBA after his rookie contract, it's a question of wether Jackson will be.

LA is collecting perimeter players who can't shoot - Rondo, KCP and Stephenson go a long way, but if you're dealing Lonzo, you need to get fair value back.

Is it loyal to fire the head coach you liked and supporte because the new star player wanted to bring in his guy [rumored to be future HOF coaches Jason Kidd or Mark Jackson]?

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade, part 3
Actually Jackson has had some moments - he needs skill work, and he's on his third coach in two years when what he really needs is a clear sense of what he's supposed to do on the court. I think the benching he got to start the season helped him.
But he's struggled enough I think he's been temporarily downgraded from possible Grant Hill, possible Kawhi, probable Iguodala to, like, Gerald Wallace - he can run all over the court and get baskets and defend but his shot is broken and his decision-making is mediocre. Some of that is the talent level in Phoenix and the way they play. His handles are ahead of Jaylen Brown's, his shot is behind. And the court vision and passing he had in college is, like with Lonzo, probably still there but disoriented by the pace of the NBA.

I’d love too see that trade.
Lakers get worse & make it harder for themselves to trade for AD & Phoenix not only get better, but get some relevancy which is good for the NBA in general.
Lonzo, Booker & Ayton stick together & they could be a decent team in a couple of years.

Not only that, but Luke played the first 9 of his 11 seasons with the Lakers and won two championships. He's not Magic Johnson, but he's a Laker lifer.

You're dreaming if you think a Kyrie rental gets that.
