If the Lakers take Hill. You can literally have the press conference tomorrow announcing Kyrie Irving signing

Agreed except I'm not sold on Kuzma > Knox. Kuz is about to be 23 years old and Knox is the second youngest dude in the league. If I'm rebuilding I'd rather have Knox. You know what Kuzma is and it ain't all that great.

Imo the pelicans not wanting KP and a top 5 pick vs the garbage the lakers can toss them for AD speaks volumes about KP

If AD is committed to New York, I am dealing everything for him. There is not a single player on this roster or anyone in the horizon that is remotely worth passing on a committed AD. I would not be bid out by Lakers for a player his caliber. You take on Hill no problem. You can waive and stretch him if you need space.

I don't get how we don't have the assets. DSJ, Knox, Robinson, 2019 first that will be a top 5 pick is better than what the Lakers have to offer IMO
Bad reporting by Wojo.
Its b/c they knew through back-channels or just plain obvious KP wasnt going to re-up with them. Further they might have been more concerned with the injury history than Dal.
KNICKS now have ALOT more tradeable assets in picks and young players to make the deal with NO.

We could always find a 3rd team to take Solomon Hill and compensate if needed...like maybe send him to the Hawks for Lin.

LA has a grab bag offer. Not bad but nothing that stands out as a top asset.
Only Tatum is a top asset and he's not available and AD doesn't want to go there.
Let’s be honest here.
Kuzma > Knox
Ingram > Frank
Ball > DSJr
The only asset we’d be able to sell them on is Zion, but we can’t guarantee him right now because of the 14%. Also, if we get AD now...who knows where our record will end.
I agree with all your > but I don't think the story ends there. Lakers are in their conference. Ingram will command a big salary after next season and is not great. Pretty much the same as with Kuzma. I don't think they need to think they're getting Zion in order to want a top pick, and maybe another from Dallas.

You're definitely right on Ingram>Frank. IMO you're overrating Ball, DSJ has been as good, if not better, so far. The interesting one is Knox vs Kuz. Because Kuz is 23 and Knox is 19. Given their ages, I'd bet on Knox's development.

Re: FA/Trade Rumors & Discussion - Durant, Kyrie, AD, etc
Here’s my offer right now...
Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr, Mitchell Robinson, 2019 First Round Pick, 2021 NYK First Round Pick.
Knowing he’ll commit.
Kyrie Irving obviously comes here, along with Kevin Durant. We still have Ntilikina, Trier, 2020 First, 2021 First (Mavs). I do it the more I think about it. The Knicks will still suck, maybe win a few more games but will likely be a top 5 pick. NO should consider.
Knox should hold higher value as he’s what 4 years younger.
Robinson is one of the most interesting prospects in basketball, could be dominate.
And DSJr is more dominate than Ball.
The Knicks 2019 pick >>>>> Lakers Picks.
21 pick will be a high 20’s pick. So not much of a loss for us.

I mean....yeah.....I was stating current value vs. long term value really. I think Knox will end up better but don’t think that’s enough to sway the power to our package. It’ll take Zion.

True, but the thing is the Lakers aint offering Ingram, not as of their first deal at least, He might be in the newly upgraded deal that came up today.

True, if you know he's committed to here then you take Solomon Hill. Can still find a way for 1 max this offseason to pair next to him.
