Re: Super Bowl thread
It's interesting that 2019 was basically a mirror image of 2018. So assuming that you can't have the Patriots fail in every way, what option do you prefer? I think some posters here have made their choice obvious.
2018-
Patriots lose
Brady was spectacular- best performance ever in a loss
Defense was terrible
Belichick was lousy
2019-
Patriots win
Brady was average
Defense was great
Belichick was really good

Yeah, he's not even in the top 10 qbs for Super Bowl passer rating....or even in top 10 for Super Bowl passer rating for one game, despite playing in 9 of them.

i wouldn't say he was spectacular, he got outscored by the opposing QB, dropped the first down pass, and fumbled w/ a minute left

i'm not the one using the robert horry argument (rings, clutch, etc) to proclaim brady as the best ever. he has the best career but that doesn't make him a better qb than rodgers, brees, etc

No one is using the Robert Horry argument, troll.

He's better than Brees because he's done more with a lot less offensive talent (just talking team offense, not even talking about overall accomplishments), he's better than Rodgers because he's been far more consistent and durable throughout his career, and he's better than Manning for a lot of the same reasons he's better than Brees...he's also just performed better in the playoffs against the tough competition than those two.
And other than those 3, I really don't think there's a QB in history that touches him except for Joe Montana, and I'd take him over Montana anyway. So yeah, he's the best ever.

Lol what? Go find me a QB that played literally a perfect game without any errors whatsoever.
Even the things you pointed out:
-how is getting outscored when you put up 33 points on you? That's on the defense.
-The first down pass wasn't a good pass...it was a lot like the pass that Brady threw to Edelman against the Chiefs that got picked, it was too far out in front
-The fumble was a great defensive play where the DE beat the O-line, fumbling the ball there isn't really on the QB

Re: Super Bowl thread
Don't understand a lot of the criticisms about Brady looking like Manning in 2015. The similarity is mainly that both guys struggled while their defense was dominant and led them to a win in the SB.
But Manning could barely throw the ball, while Brady still has one of the best arms in the league. Physically, there's no comparison between the two at this stage in their careers, which is why I knew Manning was done after 2015, while I feel that Brady still has plenty left in the tank as an elite QB after this year's SB. But I guess for guys like Kellerman and Parker, they have to push the narrative that they've been clinging to forever.

Until Brady has a 2, 3, 4 INT game like some of the games Manning did in 2015, Brady still has a year or two left.

Re: Super Bowl thread
I was wrong - thought my Rams should have been favored.
Fun fact:
The Rams have played Tom Brady in two Super Bowls - in both games, Brady's offenses only scored 13 points. In both games, the Patriots defense was statistically average (save for points allowed where they were above average, but not elite), and in both games the Rams had an offense that had scored more than 500 points.
Despite holding Tom Brady to a grand total of two offensive TDs in two Super Bowls and having an "elite" offense, we're 0-2 in these games. These also happen to be Brady and the Patriots' lowest offensive outputs of their 9 Super Bowls.
