If Conley happens, what’s next??

Post#1 » by blueadams » Tue Feb 5, 2019 6:24 am

So, say something like our ‘19 1st Rd pick, Reggie, Kennard, Stanley and Ellenson gets Conley. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ydd9q2u4

We’ve got a better PG now. Better leader. Better defender. Better shooter. Better everything. Cool.

Blake’s not going anywhere, obviously.

Gores seems to have a major hard-on for Dre. He’s probably not going anywhere.

How do we, through trades.. improve at the 3 and 2 positions?

Jrue Holiday? Would our ‘20 1st rd pick plus expirings be enough to get him? ‘20 1st, Galloway, Ish, GR3, Bullock, Zaza and Calderon for Jrue works. Galloway is the only guy they’d have to pay next yr. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y94zf5qk

If we got Conley and Holiday. Sign our depth guys, MLE, LLE, etc. Pair something with Leuer’s expiring contract and maybe we can get Batum?

C: Dre
PF: Blake
SF: Batum
SG: Holiday
PG: Conley

Is that good?

That starting lineup is making $155 million in 2020. The 2020 salary cap is expected to be $118 million. This might work if our bench is full of millionaires actually paying the Pistons to be on the team.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

If you can get Holiday you do so instead of Conley, not alongside him.

none of this is close to being possible. you think new Orleans can have 20 players on the team?

you have the Pistons moving 9/10 players for 3.. who's on the bench?

We become a perineal 3/4/5 seed if all goes well or a really expensive 7/8/9 seed. But I don’t think we have enough to get past the 2nd round if all goes right. Also our bench would be mediocre to awful considering our financial situation

We will not get Conley. Reggie Jackson is currently giving Tom Gores the same size boners he gets from Drummond. All three will have an orgy together over the summer for making the 8th seed regardless of being swept, which will most likely result in contract extensions for both players.

If we acquire Conley that's it.

Expect SJ, Reggie Bullock and Ish to be back and that's our roster for the next 2 seasons and we're paying the LT.

Drummond / min salary or 2nd rounder
Blake / SJ
Bullock / Kennard
Brown / Thomas
Conley / Ish

That's ugly.

Pretty bad, if the team goes that route then they need to follow it up moving Dre for multiple rotation players or something

Haha. But for all to go well. Griffin has to keep this up and Drummond has to constantly play inspired. It’s nearly impossible, but it is possible

We're going to trade for Conley and Holiday. Watch out for Carmelo being signed to fill our hole at the 3 spot.

Conley
Holiday
Anthony
Griffin
Drummond
