Yes, the Knicks have made some bad decisions in the past that put them into a terrible cap situation and soured player relationships but they weren't done by Perry. So continuing to whine about past decisions that the present GM didn't make is like blaming your present girlfriend for things your ex did to you. It's bitter ex baggage derangement.

Look at the moves the present GM is making with the situation they inherited and the results of those moves for what they are themselves not conflated with the moves of previous regimes. True we can say, hey, Mills is still there so that's a problem and Dolan still owns the team so that's a problem but let Perry do his job as GM on it's own, it's only fair to him to do that.

If Mills and Dolan continue to meddle or fire him then we can call that for what it is but there is no way Mills or Dolan could have pulled off such a deal with KP as quickly and quietly as Perry did in getting as much as he did in assets and flexibility. They would have botched it completely and spectacularly so their fingerprints are nowhere to be found on that deal.

Of course talking heads like Max and many others are hysterical simpletons feeding the emotional meltdown mentality, not reasonable intellects.

Max Kellerman has bias agendas and is also stubborn.
He’s been saying Tom Brady is done as a good QB for months and look who just won another Super Bowl the other night? He still can’t admit he’s wrong.
Knicks can end up with 2 stars, Zion & prime Michael Jordan and he’ll still find a way to complain and shade the Knicks due to his personal hate of James Dolan (who most of sports media hates and gets carried over to the team’s overall hate).

We all are pretty much fed up with Dolan but at least for the past 2-3 regimes he's done what an owner is supposed to do, let basketball people make basketball decisions and sign the effing checks which he has no problem spending the money.

The problem was he entrusted the wrong basketball people to make basketball decisions. Of course, this comes back to Mills again because if he meddles with the process that Perry is trying to accomplish it will end up with more of them same.

Although, if Mills has the humility to step aside and let Perry make those decisions then maybe we will see some better decisions made. If letting Perry trade KP, who was the face of the franchise and dumping Timmy who was Mills signature pet project move is any indication maybe Mills is doing that.

I don't know if Perry can build a contending roster lead by a quality coach but I sure as hell know Dolan and Mills can't. I willing to let Perry show us what he's got and judge him on the moves he makes not conflated with what previous GMs have done.

It's laughable people can be paid commentators who get things wrong again and again yet still talk confidently and emphatically like they are right about it and have never been wrong before. This means they are TV personalities and not expert analysts.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

so the pick doesn't become another later pick for them ?

Not sure what happens next. Idk if the pick turns into 2nd rd picks at a later year or what.

I think Clippers planning with the idea of building around Kawhi & Knicks are planning with the idea of building around KD.

That's why you gotta stay away from the sports shows bro

Not only do the Clippers 1st rd pick not convey to Boston if they don’t make the playoffs, but they just gave Boston even harder competition in our conference.
Lovely.

Also, takes Tobias Harris off the list of free agents “the Knicks could overpay for if they strike out”.

Kinda overkill tho no? They needed a Mirotic and a Sefalosha type deal. It’s a heckuva starting lineup with solid bench pieces now tho....on paper.
Maybe they flip Fultz next for some appropriate role players.

Actually, could potentially take Harris & Butler off our free agent list.
Of course they’re UFAs, but it seems like Sixers will give them whatever they want.

Wilson Chandler & Danilo Gallinari reunited.
This is their 3rd team together.
Knicks, Nuggets, Clippers.

The thing about this pursuit for AD is that the Pels want picks, young players and cap relief... they want it all. So any team that trades for him will probably leave themselves in some tough circumstances to fill out a roster around him unless that team has an abundance of riches to make it happen or LeBron...and the riches.

If I'm the Knicks I just get in there to drive up the price.....and not much more.

and if the hornets get gasol, we can take both kemba & harris off the worst case scenario list. which would be fantastic.
