Lebron also average 7-9 a game. Was he ever considered a PG? There is a difference of playmaking assist and getting your team involve to succeed.

I don’t think LBJ is considered a PG but he is/was definitely considered a Point Forward.

There is a difference on running a team and just simply getting the statistic of an assist.

Did you watch last years playoffs, Cavs were cheated in game 1 by the refs and JR and then Lebron went bang and gave up the rest of the series. CP3 got injured and then the rockets bricked their way out of the NBA finals. Injuries can happen as well so the next year next year attitude is a losing mentality.
Mid to late round picks mostly amount to crap all unless you get lucky or have great scouts. A bird in the hand is worth 5 in the bush in the NBA. Dont forget about buyouts someone good in gonna want join this team thats for sure - guaranteed minutes with a currently p!$$weak bench.

J.Embiid - D.Cousins
T.Harris - D.Green
J.Butler - K.Durant
JJ.Redick - K.Thompson
B.Simmons - S.Curry

At first don't like it for Clips (Tobias fan). Now it looks less than ideal for Philly who is burning through all of their assets. Depth was as big of a problem as acquiring another top talent-- another guard could've helped.

Clippers get their cap, picks (potentially top 5-10), and also have a ton of role players/depth. Philly's long term potential is an unknown if the new Big 4 doesn't work as planned. It's a no gamble versus definite gamble for the teams involved.

I like the fit here with philly. Simmons needs shooters around him and harris fits the bill. A shooter of his caliber at pf will remove a lot of pressure from both ben and biid imo.

He actually improves their overall spacing while putting an all star caliber player at what was once their weakest position, on a team with multiple star players already.

If they can keep this core together they will be a huge threat moving forward. Now chemistry and sharing the ball will be a question mark, but if they play the right way they can win a championship with that group.

No he is saying they let go of Butler's cap hold and have the ability to go after a player like durant.

Hopefully the Sixers keep Boban. Trading Shamet was the wrong move though.

Unless the Pels trade him there out of spite to us (which i'm not ruling out), what would they offer? SGA and Jerome Robinson + the Miami first and the 12-14th pick and that 76ers pick?

We offered 2 firsts + our young 3 (and possibly Hart and Zubac) and we're taking back that scrub Solomon Hill. That offer still doesn't really come close.

Boston are about the only team that could legit beat our offer (unless a team like Denver takes a flyer on him or the knicks come in and offer the #1 pick).

Well I would think Shai/Robinson/Shamet/Harrell/2019 Clippers 1st/2020 Miami 1st/2022 1st.

Whether you like it or not, the Pelicans apparently aren't falling over themselves about the Lakers youth which is completely reasonable. The Clippers package allows them more time to rebuild with all of them having long term rookie scale contracts except for Harrell.

Personally I'm a fan of Ingram and Ball in the right environment and think they can be stars, not superstars, but stars. Kuzma is going to be a good role player on a good team at the least.

The thing that is missing out of what both the Clippers and Lakers can offer is that one big pick. The Miami pick could be jut that, probably won't though.

Its not bad sure. But that doesn't beat the offer we have on the table nor does it beat a hypothetical Boston offer as well. So if they're taking that, they're more or less doing it out of spite.

The Miami pick is worth more than both Lakers 1sts (at this point). The Clippers 2022 is worth as much as a Lakers pick. Clippers can't give their 2019 (right now) unless they work a deal with Boston to take care of that in some way. In the summer they could give it. At that point it would be worth more than both Lakers picks combined than would come from a deadline deal. This years Lakers pick will probably have more value in the summer since the Lakers would be worse.

From that point, it just depends what you think of the Lakers 3. None of them have helped their value this year. I think Shai has more value than any of them at this point. The way he plays with complete control of the game is highly advanced for a rookie. Shooting 81% from the free throw line gives you confidence in his long term shooting. He shot 40% from 3 in college and 81% at the line.

Harrell has been better than any of the Lakers, although his long term upside isn't the same. At worst, you could flip him for a decent pick in the summer.

Shamet is going to be a really good shooter in the league for a long time. He is a rookie, 21, just getting his feet wet, and already getting 20mpg on a good team shooting 44/40 at 60.6 TS%. Catch and shoot, off the bounce, doesn't matter. He has a CJ McCollum type ceiling. I know some people love their Kuzma, but he is 2 years older and his shooting is back down to his college levels. He found the 3 pointer out of nowhere in summer league last year and carried it into the season. It isn't happening this year. Is it for real or not? I have no idea. There is little doubt about Shamet as an efficient scorer. He shot 44% from 3 in each of his last 2 years in college. He is going to be 15+ppg easily whenever he starts getting 30 minute and is a highly underrated part of this trade.

The Lakers young assets are kind of looking like a poo poo platter at this point. I still think Ball and Ingram can flourish if they hit the right spot, but the Lakers aren't making them look appetizing right now. Ingram's shooting provides major worries at this point for me. Shooting 29% from 3 is rough and 65% from the free throw line doesn't provide confidence that the 3 point shooting is an aberration. If he ended up in San Antonio, he would probably end up an all star after they fixed his shooting. In New Orleans? Who knows. I watched a ton of UCLA when Ball was there, so I know he has shooting in him. He looked like a damn splash brother with an ugly shot. He was launching from everywhere and 75% of them were NBA range. Sub 50 from the free throw line in both NBA years though? Ouch.

I would take that Clippers outlined above over the Lakers current offer. I doubt the Clippers are in on it yet though.

But going from the Clips to the sixers is a big upgrade in terms of playmaking from the guard spots. The best guy running the offense on the Clips roster was probably Lou freakin Williams, Simmons for all his faults will be much better at that aspect.

Well they got two firsts for a guy they probably were going to let walk, including an unprotected Miami 2021 pick, which is the year he high schoolers come back to the draft I think.

No it's not. Initially it was and probably a month after the Sixers traded for the pick the league came out and said it's probably going to be 2022 now

So they turned Blake Griffin into 5 picks, Shamet, and Avery Bradley.
