Potentially could sign Kawhi and Kyrie, then trade for AD. Whew lad

Reasons why I think we're better off just rolling with the rebuild. Of course, if KD wants to come here, by all means, then we can use the other 30 million on quality role players. Might be our best option if no one worth a 2nd max wants to come

Gallo for KCP and a pick

And then on top of all that Philly is even more stacked now and will ensure Boston doesn't get anywhere in the playoffs and then Kyrie is going to leave

Can the Clippers pull off AD and Kawhi?

KD probably won't come unless he knows someone else is coming too

In that case, just give DJ a big 1 year deal like Philly did with Redick, and go after more 2nd draft guys but give them team options or non-guaranteed 2nd years

Take the PR hit for not signing anyone with all the cap space, roll it over til next year

"Rival executives believe that the Knicks have good inside information about their ability to sign both Durant and Kyrie Irving this summer"

This just means other executives are like "Knicks gotta know something". It doesn't mean they do.

I think it's entirely possible the Knicks know relatively nothing and this all happened because a Porzingis-centric build had become too volatile. They were simply pivoting to what they perceived as a brighter future without Porzingis involvement.

Plus they have still Bradley, Beverley, Lou and Gallo for who you can snap a pick for each of them

Jerry West always wins and finds a way to come out on top. If he wants a certain two players and to make a trade for AD then that will most likely happen cause all these players want to play in LA. Kawhi has said it and AD has said it and they didn't just say the Lakers and specifically have said the Clippers as well as the Lakers and players still want to play for Doc and one of the best things LA has over NY is the weather and how all these players live there in the offseason.

Knicks & Kyrie are more connected than Kyrie and Clippers. There’s been Kyrie to Knick rumors since Lebron was with the Heat. Unless Jerry West hypnotizes him, I’m not too worried. KD & the history of NY & Knicks for Kyrie should be enough.

The Knicks knew -he who shall not be named- was going to leave so they were forced to trade him and other bad contracts and got back a young point guard with upside in DSJ and multiple first round picks. I'm not sure how people are making the leap from that to "the Knicks must know Durant and Kyrie are coming". The move had to be done independently of these guys. Maybe it happens, I'm sure we make a pitch to them, but this is just the media further setting us up for a massive overreaction and disappointment when they don't come, imo. So they have something to get on TV and scream about.

We have a young exciting roster with another top draft pick coming this summer and for the first time I can remember we don't have a single albatross contract on the roster. As long as Pills learn their lesson and don't sign a bunch of THJ 4 year deals with player options and trade kickers after whiffing on the top FA's, I'll be really excited about the rebuild even if we don't get those dudes. Maybe it's just me but if we commit to a rebuild and roll out Mitch Zion Knox Frank DSJ or something similar I'm good. KD is a snake who couldn't win with westbrook and harden and joined steph's 73 win team and uses burner twitter accounts because he's insecure and and he is getting old. Kyrie thinks earth is flat and has a bum knee. I'll be ok, I'm mentally prepared for it.

This this this.

Except I am not against KD or Kyrie, I just don't think they fit our rebuilding timeline. The trade was a reasonable move even if no free agents come here. We are embracing a healthy rebuild with young, talented players.

Yeah i'm not on the side with the people that think the sky is falling if we don't get two max players this offseason. As long as Perry doesn't get stupid and spend the money the wrong way then i'm good with another year of rebuilding and adding a good player in this lottery whether that's Zion or not. I don't feel the same way about KD the player as you do cause he did win with Russ, they just didn't win a championship but they got close. If PG doesn't win a championship with Russ are you gonna say he's not all that either?

Either way knicks in the best position ever. If we do strike out we can just give 1 year deals to good vets and chill. If they do strike out ppl gunna act like Perry wasn't saying he would stay the course for the longest unless it makes sense.

Look how desperate the Celtics are "Now we will trade you Tatum...Please wait tilt he summer for us! " No Loyalty in that organization. Not a good look.

He's a good player but he isn't prime LeBron. He's not going to carry this team anywhere. Everything I've seen leads me to believe that he needs massive support from other league MVP caliber players. Kyrie isn't one of those players. We need KD+AD or KD+Kawhi or I'm skeptical that we'd even be a contender.

I'm not too worried about the Clips stealing away KD and Kyrie. They seemed locked in on Kawhi, and they can't afford two max contracts unless they dump Gallo and I think Lou Will, which leaves them with almost nothing. I think both us and Clips will sign some superstars this offseason. The Celtics are the ones who really got screwed in this deal.
