Re: FA/Trade Rumors & Discussion - Durant, Kyrie, AD, etc
If we get just Durant and nobody else major, along with say the #3 or #4 pick, I am not sure how I would feel about that all. It would depend on how we use the rest of the money.
Durant would have a short window so I think we would have to go into win now mode which could be trouble.

team would be worse than what he had in OKC.
he'd need us to find him a robin AND build a complete basketball team.

That's cool by me, I'd love it actually. Get him here and lock him in. He'd know what he was getting into. If he's here, he's here.

There would def be a lot of buzz and excitement, but it would be tough to fill in the pieces with a short window. Not a lot of room for error. If we pick the wrong Robin or make the wrong move, it could end badly by year 3 or 4 of that contract.
I am never crazy about signing players into there 30's to big deals when we are a bad team.

Not losing our picks to get that aging star helps.....

probably better we get 2 or none at all. unless we draft zion and he can be the 2nd star right away.

The 2021 draft is supposedly generational. If we strike out in FA, just stick to the process of building through the draft.

Do owners get hounded every day on Twitter to announce (or in this case renounce) their intentions publicly? Everybody knows when teams/owners are targeting certain players. The Knicks made a public display of seeking LeBron (within the rules) for longer than a couple years.
Leave Durant alone
