I thought S&T would be possible, but after reading further that doesn't make sense for the Knicks because they have 2 max slots available.

Thus, I would think they could move DSJ for someone else after they get their guy this summer. If Kemba is in the plans, they will have to get him before the deadline this year, or he'd lose a lot of money due to them not having his bird rights.

Most plausible is probably them landing Kyrie and Durant and trading either DSJ or French Frank for an immediate impact player this summer.

The trade for DSJ is not going to stop the Knicks signing Kyrie or Kemba, this trade was as much about the cap room.

They want to sign 2 all stars

I get that, but why not sign 2 all stars at other positions and keep the cheap salary controlled PG who also flashes all start potential?

Not saying that's not the plan, just don't get why it's a better decision from a roster building perspective.

It's the Knicks, where logic goes to die.

DSJ hasn’t proven to be a starting nba point guard yet either

Lol, the Clifford effect is setting in... I hope their front office doesn't seriously sell their future so Cliff can chase the 8th seed building around Gordon/Fournier/Vuc.

That’s exactly what’s gonna happen.

I guess Clifford is telling the GM he has everything to be a contender but a PG.

And Batum. He definitely needs Batum, at any cost.

as mind boggling as this DAL-NYK trade is it's also pretty cool that Porzingis is going to step into Dirk's shoes just as Dirk rides off into the sunset

And that’s why I said that the franchise could be lost to Seattle if it has to go through a rough rebuilding phase.

Well, giving Kemba a supermax doesn't guarantee anything either. Wizards have shown us that.

I believe the Hornets were 28th last year as well.

How the hell are the Knicks worth that much when they continue to suck?

What’s worst, not having a team or having a mediocre team for a decade?

Thanks for the replies.

I just checked the link. Forbes could've done a better job with the color scheme in that graph.

We should pick up Stauskas off waivers.

If the team was managed better and was able to find consistent success the value of the franchise would be a lot higher. There are at least half a dozen teams in worse markets than Charlotte/NC on that list.

I agree, we could use the bench scoring and decent ball handling.
