Hi. My name is AD. Please gut your entire future flexibility to acquire me.

Sorry, no more Melo stuff.

i get what you're saying, as that is what set the knicks back.

but everyone on this planet would pick AD > Melo, even in his prime. AD is elite on both sides of the court.

that said, i agree. don't trade the farm for a tractor.

Yup. Agreed.

There's a snowball's chance in hell AD is coming to NYC, or even wants, NYC, over LA, Lebron, and a chance to be the face of the Lakers after Lebron sails off into the sunset.

At least the Knicks will draft Reddish though! Actually, that's too interesting. Make that Culver. or Langford.

Finally tank right in a year that the lotto format has the largest odds against you.

Clear room for Max Cats when 4 other teams have room for 2 max cats. 3 days later, at least 3 other teams open up significant cap space. And as usual the Lakers and Celtics are major destinations with assets for trades and/or cap space.

Go Knicks. Rah!

Knicks always figure sh*t out about two years too late.

Once again, it's a couple of years before the Knicks are really ready for anything but fanbase has convinced itself every top FA is beating down the door to come here, when there are tons of signs they want the Clippers or LA or to just stay put.
Granted there are solid Durant rumors, but let's be honest, who knows?

And can all the Zion scenarios. Dude is getting drafted by someone else.

Enjoy!

Nope, well become a winner, and everything is all positive. He just can’t sign these 1+1 contracts otherwise he’ll hear FA till no end..

The media won’t give him any issues. Social media will be annoying but that’ll always be the case for superstars in major markets

LOL, so I think the elephant in the room is that this kid probably ain’t really built for NY. I don’t think any of his opinions are wrong per se but he’s way too sensitive about the media...

He’s gonna have meltdown when he goes to the corner store in Manhattan and sees a negative backpage picture of himself in Daily News, smh... could handle the media treatment/pressure Ewing got here? Charles Smith?

NY will eat this kid alive

The bright side of this is that he is also aware he's brought this upon himself, and the only way to correct this is to let go of Curry's coattails and build his own squad to prove it to the people he's mad at. If he does it anywhere else, he's a basketball champion. If he does it here, he's a God. That's all he really needs to know...that if he wants to fix this....NY is the one spot were he can be empowered to do what he wants, play who he wants to play with, he never had that choice before.

A lot of people aren't aware of this, but those pussies in GS cornered him and wanted him even more than he actually wanted to join them, Lebron's comeback had them shook.

I don't think he will be tattered here, because he is the guy New York wants, he's not Carmelo Anthony, a consolation prize. He's a champion, and MVP, a Finals MVP, a multiple time scoring champion. He has the resume and clout to tell Berman to stfu.

This is exactly what i've been thinking fore a while now that the media is gonna hurt us in free agency and it's just kept getting worse every day and now this with KD and the talk about how Kyrie hates when other people say they know what he's gonna do and that he's the type of person that would do the opposite to prove a point. That came from a Boston media person on that NBA trade deadline show they had on NBA TV yesterday.

i agree that it's an unfair position to be in. it's annoying as hell.

but it's part of the job. it's not just putting the ball in the hole. the NBA as a whole knows this. unfortunately, dealing with the media is a component. that same press is used to make the NBA so damn profitable. so, play that part of the game like a pro too.

i just watched the video. i agree with everything he had to say. i even agree with him challenging the media. his "grow up" is akin to "do better tomorrow." that's COMPLETELY fair.

but, you have to show up. and you can poop on them when you do.

until the league changes the requirements on communicating with the media, it's to be done. if it's not required, then he's within his right to not speak. but then he has to live with the result of that.

KD has for so long obviously struggled with all of this. he can't even keep away from the fans. so knowing this, i think NY would be a very toxic environment for him. i didn't see this and see confirmation of his joining the knicks. if anything, this makes me think he's less inclined to have to deal with the NY media.

The media will never be a good look for NY. Never.
Build them up to tear them down.

Put that with the way the Knicks have conducted themselves and this organization has sooooooo much to prove. Takes YEARS to build a reputation. Too bad we built the wrong one.
