Listen... nobody is going to pass up on KD because he's sensitive lol

But him coming here and finding out being a star in NY isn't all what he thought it would be... That can happen. Him not handling it well... that can happen too.

What does him not handling it well even mean? You sign KD to play basketball right? What else do you sign him for, to listen to his post game media discussions? He's been avoiding the media for a week or so now and yet his play is as good as ever.

And to anyone thinking he would be "scared" of the media, that's the most hilarious thing I've ever heard. Guy grew up in poverty, violence all around him, mentors murdered, and he's going to be scared of the media? It's absolutely absurd.

In this scenario a deal with the Knicks right now saves the Pelicans $30M. I'd imagine that could be extremely intriguing to them when contemplating a Knicks offer.

Very important. I think the Knicks should seize the fleeting sports momentum and make a deal now.

How you gonna post that here and try and ask legitimate questions about anything other than the ominous and expected confirmation of what's going to happen to the Knicks pick?

GOD F*CKING DAMMIT. IT'S INFURIATING BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW IT'S INEVITABLE.

5th would be ok. I’m still afraid we win a few games and drop to 6th or 7th

So pretty much 5/6 FRPs in value + garbage? Imagine that... Same value offer as LAL, NYK will blow this away easily.

Ran through some #'s of what the cap situation would look like if they traded for AD now.

Trade: Kanter, Knox, Ntilikina, Dotson, 2019 1st, Mais 2021 1st to NO for AD

GTD:
Noah (6,431,667)
Thomas (1,000,000)

Smith Jr. (4,463,640)
AD (27,093,019)
Robinson (1,559,712)

Trier (3,551,100 TO)

6,707,712 (min roster charge: 8)

7,431,667+4,463,640+1,559,712+27,093,019+3,551,100+6,707,712=50,806,850

109,000,000-50,806,850=58,193,150 (cap space)

Sign KD

7,431,667+4,463,640+1,559,712+27,093,019+3,551,100+38,150,000+5,869,248 (min roster: 7)=88,118,386

109,000,000-88,118,386=20,881,614 (cap space after AD, KD)

Ewing hated the media too. Thank God social media wasn't around then too.

I don't want my Superstar to kiss no media ass i want my superstar to bring us a Championship for the first time since early 72-73. Who cares that he gets annoyed by the media? Like really, who gives a flying fk when we're talking about BASKETBALL?!?

Men are becoming more drama queens than most woman drama queens these days. It's weird. In the 90's we never would gossip about how Jordan, Ewing and Barkley addressed the media... Never.

Middleton for that $20mil would be perfect.

DSJ - Trier
Middleton
KD

IMO I think our top 5 pick (even if it doesn't land at 1) is more valuable than guys like Ball and Ingram. This draft has some nice players, that will be under team control for cheap for 4 years as opposed to Ingram who will get big money as a RFA in 2020 and probably Ball/Kuz too in 2021. With the Knicks offer, their 2019 1st would be under contract through 2023, and Knox through 2022.

Maybe it doesn't make a difference, but I still think it plays to the Knicks favor that the players they can offer are controllable for longer at a lower salary

Agreed.. too much can happen (ala. Paul George re-signing). Get AD and worry about the rest later. I wonder if trading Knox or Ntilikina for any first would allow us to be more aggressive with picks (i.e.) -

Ntilikina traded for lottery protected 2020 1st...

Knicks Trade:
2019 NYK
2020 NYK (Knicks keep the pick received for Ntilikina)
2021 NYK
2021 DAL
2023 DAL
Knox
Mitch
Dotson
Kanter

We'd basically have no 2019 1st Round Pick or 2021 1st round pick. We would still have a pick in 2020 (lottery protected), 2022 and 2023. We'd go into the summer with DSJ, AD and nothing else.

If NYK get #1, it's best asset by a lot. BOS would need to throw everything @ NOP. Not even concerned about LAL, they lowballed value wise, looks like BOS is doing the same w that offer.

If NYK get #1 I'm just drafting Zion as our PF of the future and telling the Pelicans to take a hike

2019 1st, 2021 1st, KP, Ntilikina, Knox, Mitch, Dotson, THJ, Lee, Kanter, Burke for AD, DJ, Matthews, KD and DSJ is a steal. If you can add another star via FA.. it's just a cherry on top.

Honestly, taking my homer hat off, that deal beats Boston and LA's potential deal. And if Boston doesn't include Tatum, it's not even close.

Zion's the same height as James Harden and DeRozen without shoes with no shooting ability/touch yet. His standing reach is 8-7... less than Harden. Gimme the brow.
