Man, I don't get it. Why move up for a young prospect at the cost of giving up a young prospect? The timeline window is off. Plus, young player development is very difficult on a Vuc lead squad. This is what we've been doing and we're spinning in circles chasing our tails.

Now that we are going forward with Vuc, it's more sensible to give up our pick for a vet like Conley or Jrue.

If the prospect is clearly better I don't see any problem. Also it's better to pay a 3rd pick rookie than Conley or Jrue's salaries.

I have to agree with Rob here. In two seasons under Weltman and Hammonds watch we’ve seen virtually nothing to get excited about roster wise. Issac and Bamba might be nice players in a couple years, but they’re not the new measuring stick at their positions. Aaron Gordon and Fournier should have been moved last year. It’s arguable if Vuc should have been moved, last year would have made sense. This year it’s Vuc keeping this franchise from completely being dusted Thanos style. Now just to have anywhere near a positive trajectory we almost certainly need to keep Vucevic here long term. 7 years of bad play and the prospect of 7 more really makes me want to give up on this franchise. And I’m a 30 year fan. I actually think Hennigan did a better job than Hammond and Weltman have thus far.

Nemesis, don’t get me wrong, part of me sees the advantage of moving Vuc, and completely changing the cellular structure of this team, but to do that Evan and Gordon need to go too, and I’m in favor of a complete roster overhaul. Is that realistic though? If we move Vuc we have a team that wins games in the teens next year. Gordon’s no star and neither is Fournier. We don’t get better by dropping Vucevic and keeping them. Outside of obvious cap implications I’d almost rather keep Vuc a couple more years so this franchise at least has a pulse. If we turn into bottom feeders really go deep. Drop everybody except Issac and go from there.

I agree with that. Evan and Vuc definitely need to go. And I'm open to moving Gordon for a SF. Helps unclog big, puts and end to who plays SF. Isaac at 4, Bamba at 5. Also gives those two more minutes. Get two top 3 picks(not necessarily this draft, but this one and next), let all the youngsters develop. Stay patient with them and don't sign vets to hinder their minutes.

Not if prospect is going to take 3-4 years to develop an outside shot. Morant is great at a lot of things, but shooting is not a current strength.

Morant makes a lot of sense if we go forward with Isaac and Bamba. But it's just a recycling mess if we keep Vuc and imagine that Morant will help take us deep in the playoffs like Conley or Jrue have a better chance of doing. Yeah, it cost more, but that's what a Vuc + vets team is all about.

Why pay Vuc $25M+ to be on a team of young unprovens? He needs to be surrounded by more established - ready now players.
