Simmons is mostly an athlete.. the picks are a lot. But it's a good gamble - either it's literal nerves w/ Fultz, which means he can heal up, or it's figurative nerves, which means less pressure, a smaller market, a rebuilding team and a change of scenery could help him get on track.

I'm hoping for Ojeleye, Bird and cash to some team for a 2nd round pick. Make it happen Danny! Open 2 roster spots.

Re: Anthony Davis requests trade: part four
Lmaoo no ones hating on Simmons....it's the fact that the Sixers traded the #1 overall pick who forgot who to shoot for him after a season and a half that's the joke of it all.

Pick looks to be 2020 top 20 protected and then turns into 2 seconds so it's kind of a weak one.

I brought up Kevin Love the other day but the bigger thing to remember is Dwight Freaking Howard. Remember that national nightmare? What was it worth? Nothing it was giant waste of time. Before you try and say that Davis is better than Howard it doesn't matter a flawed team built around Howard went to the Finals, was a title contender for years then we listened to his BS for two years while his trade and FA played only to result in 100's of millions wasted and in it meaning nothing.
Don't overvalue Davis. IT and bunch of borderline NBA talents won 50 games punched above its weight in the postseason it really isn't that hard if your star can close games.
No really similar at all imo. Howard's game is completely different to AD's and when did we do anything of significance in the postseason with Thomas? Did I miss something? ****, I can't even remember Thomas having more than two decent games in the postseason.
AD is a generational talent. Howard was a pedophile with some muscles and a great coach.
Of course it is similar. The game has moved away from the big man. What makes Davis different than Howard is he plays like Chris Bosh and would likely suffer the same fate as Bosh and Love when he teams up with Lebron.
BS on Davis being a generational talent. Generational talents win games. Steph Curry and James Harden are what Hakeem and Ewing used to be. You don't kneed the aircraft carrier anymore you need an all around talent who can close games. I love Davis want him on my fantasy team every year but he doesn't close games and that is why his teams are always sort blah. James, Durant, Curry, Harden, Westbrook, Irving these are the guys that close games make the difference don't get it confused. 40 points and 30 rebounds and getting beat by 10 is what it is.
He is a great player and I am fine with dealing for him he can help but Tim Duncan and 4 fools would make the playoffs. KG and 4 fouls frequently did make the playoffs.
Harden was a glorifed three and D dude before Houston.
Davis has carried fools to the playoffs twice now. Jordan lost three times in the first round. The players around you and your org matters. I trust my eye test on Davis and we'll just have to agree to disagree.
YOU LOSE

Yeah, he's been the only one on our roster that has shown an ability to even remotely slow GIannis down.

Good deal for Philly. Early second and a potential 2020 1st (top 20 protected) for a guy that cannot play. I hope Fultz can turn it around but I think he has mental issues, not shoulder issues.

2 roster spots are more valuable in this buyout season in my opinion.

Yikes.
I think this deal is still more than many of us expected. Never thought they would still be able to extract a first out of some team for Fultz?
A mid 20's first for Fultz, who went #1 overall a year ago, isn't exactly earth shattering.

2020 first round draft pick from Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City's 2020 1st round pick to Orlando (via Philadelphia) protected for selections 1-20; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Oklahoma City will instead convey its 2022 2nd round pick and 2023 2nd round pick to Orlando [Oklahoma City-Philadelphia, 11/1/2016; Orlando-Philadelphia, 6/22/2017]
This is pick Philly is getting....could be 2 seconds instead
