Well, I don't think this team is a 6-8 seed next year. Anyone else notice they can't defend a fly? Why bring back the same personnel, why bring back the same system?

The goal this year is ostensibly still to get the 8th seed. I didn't say their goals are realistic or optimal but Ted wants playoffs every year.

Well, the FO did say the Wizards weren't looking to trade Wall, Beal, or Porter.

So...

Just have to wait and see I guess.

To quote a poster on the general board on this topic.... “this isn’t bad management anymore, this is wilful abuse on a city and it’s fanbase. Grunfeld needs to be stopped.”

This can't be happening. Adam Silver needs to step in and force Ted to fire EG for the good of the league.

I can at least understand the financial decision to sell picks in order to get under the cap and save money. I can even live with the notion of trading Porter for future cap relief, given the realities of Wall's dead weight contract limiting any flexibility. But for God's sake, if you do all that stuff, you HAVE to understand that we are no longer in "win now" mode. Rebuilding is the only option.

It's just malpractice to retain old vets on expiring contracts when teams out there want them and are willing to pay for them. What is the purpose for retaining them? We were on pace to win 37 games and finish 10th in the East WITH Otto Porter in the lineup. What do you expect the record to be next with the same basic team only without Porter? By what rational basis do you believe that's a team that can make the playoffs?
