I knew this would be a tough game for absolutely no reason.

Look like we're going to get over the hump, go into the half up by 10ish and we suck it up the final 2-3 minutes.

We were up 49-40 with 3 minutes left in the half. Now we're down 53-51 at the half? To this terrible Grizzlies team?

What the actual ****? We cannot lose this game.

We are a second half team. This fouling before the inbound rule seems to never be enforced except against us

that's the kind of games where Diallo should play more. I mean, playoffs starts in a bit more than 2 months so odds of getting Roberson back are pretty low. I'm not even sure getting Abrines at 100% is possible.

The didn't switch as much in the 2nd half plus having Adams back on the floor helped turn around a disastrous defensive performance.

Everything changed when Adams came back in. Terrible 1st half. No1 wanted to get any high percentage shots. Just lazy 3 pointers.

Theres a few hard games coming up the bois need to play with far more energy than that

That was probably the most frustrating part of the 1st half for me. All the lazy 3 point attempts. No one made a concerted effort to put pressure on the defense by attacking the paint.

I didn't watch most of the game, but I'm sure some of the lazy, absent-minded play in the first half stemmed from the fact that the players felt this was always going to be a game they could eventually flip a switch and win going away.

On another note, I am interested to check Grizzlies boxscores the rest of the season as Jaren Jackson Jr. gets center stage with Gasol gone. I know Conley is still there, but this last two months of the season should give Grizzlies fans a decent idea whether or not JJJ is a true All-Star caliber cornerstone piece.

I know the Grizzlies got Valanciunas in the deal, but they really should use this as a time to unleash JJJ.

Now our schedule is going to be brutal. I won't be surprised if we end up 6th or something. Just no easy games (with 2 or 3 exceptions)

The schedule was always going to end brutal. All the projection models had OKC with a progressively worse winning percentage each month before the season started. OKC could hang on to 4th and get knocked out in the first round by Houston/SA/Utah/Portland in similar fashion to last year. Then they will bring back most of the same team and try to repeat that for two more years and then PG leaves and they are in the lottery for the last few years of Russ' career.

Been hearing this all year, but haven't seen the problem. You schedule doomsdayers realize that okc is a tough team on others schedules, right? Like, they are favored in every home game except vs. Gsw and in almost every road game (would be small underdogs @Toronto, milwaukee, bos and denver). Give it up.

A few other truths

Schroeder has been really good, his stats don't represent it, the teams record does. He's their whole bench, they'd be a mess without him.

Grant is on an amazing contract. Outperforming it by a mile. Out of curiosity, do you guys think any version of Roberson is/was better than current grant (he's not done getting better guys. You see how consistent minutes and shots boosts a guys confidence (happened w ferg too....just never Roberson after 6 years) Several of you scoffed at that notion, dismissing confidence as a made up factor haha).

Having a shooter at the 2 has taken the offense to a different level, and completely opened up the floor. Good thing too since Russ can't shoot and neither can adams. George and Westbrook would be working so hard if Roberson was in their not being guarded or closed out to.

Westbrook has been great, just different in that he can't hit the midrange or elevate at the rim like he used to. Still constantly collapses the D and pushes in transition, all game. He's in on every loose ball and taps out rebounds all the time. He's a pest. Dominating games with his playmaking, which is off the charts, and energy, percentages aside.

This was an easy W, not many holes on the team. A backup 4 to replace patterson would be nice , and one more wing (a shooter, not a one way defender who can't dribble , create, shoot 3s or shoot off a dribble in general).

Am I the only one who no longer feels confident about Russ having a wide open dunk?

Jackson, Jr. is going to be really good.
