Since LAC was having their fire sale for cap space
at next year's free agency, I was hoping we'd have
made a run at Lou Williams. Maybe offer Tyreke
plus a pick.

Lou is so much better at the role we envisioned
for 'Reke and is on a friendly contract; so that
prob makes parting with a pick worth it. 8-)

Yeah, that would’ve been a nice add, but even with selling guys off, I think LAC probably wanted to finish this run with him and keep some professional in the locker room. Plus, they know they can probably still net cap and a pick in the offseason anyway.

Vorda - got a scouting report?

Sent from my phone.

:D :D
I Googled him and see he's had a long career in Europe so I doubt we have plans for him.

He is 33 and plays in second Italian league... that is amateur level

He was drafte years ago in the rush to hoard players overseas who could turn into something. He never did, and at this point is a foreign rights guy that is simply useful for trades where we wish to send nothing back. He’s 33, so we can only conceivably include his rights for a year or two before the nba could claim that he has no chance of coming to the nba and not allow it anymore. Essentially why we had to include “cash considerations” in this deal to Houston instead of the rights to Andy Betts (who is well north of 40 now).

Evans is on a 1 year contract so he can't be traded now that the deadline has past. I think there are a few reasons why he was not traded. One being that he's looked like warmed over crap this year and 2 if we had moved him it would have been for some guy like Brandon Knight or similar longer contract and useless player. We might have gotten Houston's #1 pick in a deal like that. But the Clippers would have wanted our #1 in a deal of Evans for Williams.

I think we decided that playing the buyout market could get us as good a player as the trade market would have without losing the cap room we'll have in the summer.
