I will give SVG some credit though: he at least avoided overpaying for guys like KCP and Monroe. When you strike out in free agency and the draft though, there’s very little room to grow. I always thought SVG the coach must have hated SVG the GM.

He offered KCP a huge deal. 5 for 80 mill. That would of been the worst of all but we got lucky Kcps agent was dumb.

He should of traded Monroe and kcp before they hit free agency. He wanted to hold them to win games till the end.

I think it's unfair to say Jackson because he was definitely living up to his deal in the 1st year of his contract and if it wasn't for injuries I feel he could've maintained that production through the life of his contract (we also probably would've made the playoffs the last two years and SVG might still have a job).

Leuer and Galloway were both head-scratchers at the time and are probably moreso now. Leuer would have to the worst given he can barely crack the rotation, at least Galloway catches fire from the three point line occasionally.

But as said above me, if KCP had accepted his offer that would probably be the worst. We'd still be paying him $16M a year for the next 3 seasons.

Who in their right mind ever thought Jon Leuer and Langston Galloway were winning players to begin with? Horrible contracts.

Reggie Jackson is overpaid, but I can at least understand it to an extent.

SVG outsmarted himself with both the leuer and boban signings. tolliver and baynes were both clearly better players that ended up being had for much cheaper than what he expected.

I argue that Reggie wasn’t a bad signing IF we didn’t know about the tendinitis. His salary is on par with an average starting guard, which is at least what he is when healthy.

The kicker for Leuer to put him over the top is that we let Tolliver walk in order to give Leuer a contract way bigger than what AT got, despite AT being a far bigger impact player.

I’d put Galloway next, but more because of the circumstance having just drafted Luke. Why sign a guy to a 3 year deal after trading for Bradley and drafting Luke?! Made no sense then and none now.

Baynes was arguably the pistons most important player the 2nd half of the year they made the playoffs. In the beginning he had issues catching the ball but made up for it greatly and was a key contributor when andre couldnt stay on the court because of his free throws.

Giving boban 7 mill a year for no reason was pure idiocy.

Return to Detroit Pistons
