From December -Feb. of last year, John average the same number of minutes or more than this year.

You really just make up numbers don't you? That's not true at all.

Last year, Collins averaged 24.8 mpg in February, 27.7 mpg in March. This year he is averaging 29.7 mpg. Even with April (31.2 mpg) included he is much higher this year than his mpg average from Feb - April last year.

Too much Kemba tonight, not enough defense. Hornets went ballistic from the field in the first quarter and then successful repelled our best run, when we got close in the third.

Trae looked really good minus the turnovers, I wish Pierce would've put him in sooner in the fourth but I understand that this is a stretch of five games in eight nights that we just started.

On to Orlando tomorrow night.

Trae did not look good tonight. Just because he wasn't scored on like that, doesn't mean he didn't harm us defensively tonight. This loss is on him and that stupid willingness to allow the 1-5 switch. His willingness to switch without making a fighting effort to stick with Kemba made Kemba look like the offensive GOAT tonight.

He still finds himself in foul trouble even though he's playing super passive on defense. I hope this positional defense focus they have him working with eventually pays off, can't help but wonder what would be if they just let him learn the limits of aggressive defense.

Did they grade the duck in the lane dunk? That might have been the most emphatic dunk of Marv’s career.

Combination of players youth and individual defense and scheme. IMO, switching every screen is lazy defense. Take care of your guy first, look for help second.

I can’t love this enough. DON’T DEPEND ON HELP D. I mean it’ll be there ..lol...ok it should be there but you need to fight harder through screens vs going through the motions.

During the broadcast when they came back from a timeout Lloyd had Trae and Collins huddled and said something along the lines of...

I need you guys to ignite the DEFENSE, not the offense. I couldn’t love that enough. In any sport or aspect of sport you have to focus on your weaker attributes and spend time in those areas...like kg with his glutes.

Overall the level of play with our young Hawks is quite impressive despite tonight’s outcome. We had a couple of really tough quarter and a tough time containing the hot shooting Kemba.

Make no mistake though that we are ahead of our timeline. It’s a great thing to watch these guys develop and build chemistry.

You can tell the confidence goes up each game. There were a few dribble drives by Huerter this game and just the way he demonstratively put the ball on the floor with his first dribble exuded a great or greater deal of confidence than a couple months or even games ago.

The passing is phenomenal as well for their age group.

GO HAWKS!

Magic game should be a fun one!

WOOP there it is. 5 1/2 games now separate Hawks from The Magics for 6th worst, 5 1/2 games now separate Hawks from DAAAAA-Bulls-da-Bulls-da-Bulls for 4th worst. There is NO other positional cushion in the entire league that even comes close to that margin. Hawks in love affair with 5th (for now) worst. And I like it. As end of season gets closer, if Mavs are still around 10th or so worst, expect to witness Hawks set their sites on 4th or 3rd worst since Mavs pick (positional aspect of it at least) will be mathematically secured. Book it.

:P

Hot game for the Hornets. The buried the Hawks to start the game. It was over then.

Collins continues to pick up fouls. He had 5 last night. Another X Hawk, Marvin, had a great game. Why is it that, whenever
we face one of our former players, they seem to always have a great game?

We've got our 18 wins for the season. Any other win is just gravy. Enjoy the ride. We will win again before season's end!

GO ATL HAWKS !!
