Jeremy Lin has agreed to a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks and will sign with the Toronto Raptors once he clears waivers.

Lin was traded by the Brooklyn Nets to the Hawks this past offseason.

Lin was on an expiring contract.

How do non-Raptor fans feel about this move as well the acquisition of Marc Gasol?

Personally I’m happy they’re all in this year, but when I watch them play I don’t see anything special with this group at all.. in fact I’m surprised their record is as good as it is.

Don't get it at all. I know Toronto's got a good chance to win the East but they have a great starting PG and a top-notch back up. He's not winning a title and he's not getting big minutes, so seems like a weird move to me.

Weird signing. I assume they are going to try him at the 2? It's not like they are hurting for pg's.

It's insurance in case one of our PGs gets injured , raptors just traded Delon Wright so they needed a 3rd PG. Low risk move. Raptors also like playing PGs off the ball so he can play beside Lowry/ Van Vleet

I meant I don't get it for Lin, of course you or any other team is going to take a decent player for free.

FVV hurt his hand. Lin will be the backup PG and FVV will spot up for 3s as Lin is a better finisher at the rim when running the P&R.

Lowry is too small to succeed in the playoffs, so Lin might get big minutes in the playoffs

They have 2 point guards on their roster and they've both been hurt a lot this year, they desperately needed a point guard. Plus VanVleet and Lowry can both play off the ball a lot.

As I mentioned before, I obviously get it for the Ratpors--why not take Lin for nothing?--but not for Lin. Lowry and Van Vleet might get injured in the playoffs but that's not super likely, and the more likely scenario is Lin playing like 10 mpg behind them. Would've had more PT with many other teams.
