Re: I think KD is 110% going to New York
I'm not even sure KD knows what he will do after the season is over and I sure as hell don't think RealGM posters do either. KD is a different type of dude, who knows at this point if all the noise has got to him and he wants to branch out to a new team to cement his legacy or if he wants to stay with the Warriors and go for 4 titles in a row if they win it all again this year. He has signed three 1+1 year contracts and stayed with the Warriors so far and now they have his bird rights and will be able to offer him a max salary as they are opening their new arena in SF. All I know is time will tell what he decides and I am just going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

a coward like kevin durant will go to a 10 win team next season? sounds extremely insane to me.

His company (and his agent) have always been based in NYC. They simply moved from one building to another. It's a non-story. That article talking about moving was clickbait.
That being said, I think KD going to the Knicks is a done deal. There is no way the Knicks would've moved their best asset just to clear more cap space if they didn't get an assurance he was coming.
So how does that work, exactly? KD's people told the Knicks FO that he'd sign there if they got a 2nd max slot to sign a specific FA?
For me there are too many moving parts for anyone to commit to anything at this point. I do want to say that the Knicks adding KD, Zion, and Kyrie to their current team still makes them pretty far away from being a top team in the east. You don't go from being a 15 win team to a 55 win team just like that. It will take a few years to build a proper squad, and that's based on the FO proving that they are good at what they do which they have not done yet.
I think KD respects basketball too much to make a decision based on where he wants to base his business. I think the possibility of a 1st or 2nd round playoff knockout several years in a row will get in his head.

I don't understand why anyone would want to go to NY. That team is a complete mess. Until they get a new owner not much will improve.

And really, look at it from a Warriors perspective. Plenty of stars want to move because they were stuck in what was perceived as a situation where they couldn't win. This isn't the case here. The Warriors put him in a position to win 2 Finals MVPs. They've given the best platform to win. Yet KD has still refused to commit long term.
Suffice to say, winning isn't the issue to KD, or at least it no longer is because he now has 2 championships and 2 Finals MVPs. He can scratch that off his list. He's pretty much now in Lebron mode, where he wants to build his brand and shape his post playing career in a large and influential media market.
I agree with your overall point but KD doesn't exactly have the LeBron legacy. It's a basketball decision to lead a major market team and do some damage in the PO's. Very different than what LeBron has done.
So you guys are still going to quibble if he joins what is one of the worst teams in the NBA currently?.
How would it be different from LeBron exactly, other than Miami having won a title much more recently than the current Knicks at the time of “The Decision”. And in the case of LeBron’s move back to Cleveland, the Seattle Supersonics don’t exist any more so he can’t go back to the city which drafted him. As I have said previously, if there happens to be a Seattle team for him to go to during the remainder of his career there is a strong chance he would go there imo.
Lebron went to miami when they were the worst team in the league? Because they were not..

Celtics did it when they got Garnett and Allen to add to Pierce and a drafted Rondo. It can be done.
I also think if they land KD and Kyrie, that trading for AD becomes a possibility.

Usually I'd agree, but they're actually on the right track now. Scott Perry being the GM has been a life saver

I actually do think KD is heading there, but it's 100% including that sweet super-max.

Thats the doom scenario for Boston some of us Celtics fans talk about a lot. How if the Knicks get the first pick they can trade it for AD and then get KD and the green light from Kyrie. Kyrie is pretty close to both KD and AD.
A lot of it depends on the draft lottery. And Ainge is going to try to get AD with his own package but many think an offer of Zion will beat it with New Orleans. Basically Zion being a bigger draw for the Pels then Tatum.
Of course a lot has to happen though for this to happen but the scenario is there. I try not to think about it though lol but it's tough to ignore that possibility is there.
If KD went to the Knicks and was a guarantee, doesn't make sense for him to play on a rebuilding team. And if the leaks are right about AD's list of preferred teams the Knicks were on it and he said he wants to win championships.

Re: I think KD is 110% going to New York
Never really expanded on my post on page 1, but remembering 2016's summer fairly well and what went down, signs are there.
Kyrie promises he's staying in Boston. Then says he's gonna do what's best later on.
At the same time KD won't talk to media while people link him to NY.
Davis won't guarantee he's gonna stay in Boston while Kyrie won't confirm it now either.
The Knicks trade their best prospect in forever, under new and actually good management, to clear double max cap space.
It's definitely possible it's nothing. But it sure reads like something.

A warrior championship is not guaranteed but has a star ever left an NBA champion in free agency ?

Thanks for the championships, KD.
Talk about jumping to conclusions.
I think his partners in the company live in New York, so that's why its moving from SF to NYC. It's also good for business because if he has some high profile clients, then they like it if the office is in New York. It depends on the clients. It has nothing to do with him choosing the Knicks. He could just at well pick the Nets or stay with the Warriors.
DAJ probably isn't going to sign with New York unless they give him a max. He wants to go back to the Clippers and Doc Rivers. DAJ may be KD's friend, but he could not convince him to go the Clippers when he was there earlier in his career. KD's said some harsh things about the Knicks owner and management, too, so I doubt he's going to the Knicks.

If everything goes NY way is AD, KD and Irving
A title favorite? AD has never won Irving has injury history and the east is stacked.
AD and Irving played with little public scrutiny in small markets. OKC and Bay Area is far from NY.
KD is more likely to fail in NY IMO.
