Sixers fan here. Out of all of the East teams, I respect and fear your team the most in playoffs.
I would agree with some of you and say you are better without Irving against us. We’ll see how it goes.

The Celtics are returning to their mean. They are not quite as good as the end of last year's run. Definitely not as bad as they have looked at times this year. Talent wise, don't see 1 position in the starting 5 where I would choose a Celtic. On offense, the Sixers no longer have any weak links. On defense, they are too long and strong and not even a cohesive unit yet. LOL
They are winning on talent alone right now. And share the ball better than most teams in the league. Bench has acquired more reliable veterans & improved at the backup center (Boban) wing position (J Simmons & J Ennis) & power forward (Mike Scott) positions. They are not world beaters but can hold the fort enough, as they were not getting much of anything before from the bench, offensively or defensively.
Right now, it's hard to get a big run on this team, as there are 2 all stars types on the floor at all times. Basically, they take turns scoring and distribute the wealth pretty evenly because they will exploit your weakness as the game develops. I see a somewhat tight game here til half time. Sixers pull away by end of game with a 15 point victory. This will be a demoralizing loss for the Celtics. You will learn tonight that things are different now in the Eastern Conference.

Kyrie had 40 & 10 last time, including a shot to take us to OT, so....

So the Sixers are the Warriors now
Yikes man. You'd actually pick Ben can't shoot from past one foot Simmons over Kyrie f***** Irving?
Man...that's kinda hilarious not gonna lie.

I would disagree with the folks here if that was the sentiment.
Without Kyrie we lack a consistent go to threat to close the game.
He is one of a handful of premier game breaking talents in the NBA.

Ha. Your team plays Iso ball with him & has no chemistry with him. And he's hurt a lot. He also plays no defense. So each have their warts. But overall, I would take Simmons. He's a walking triple double and doesn't need to score at all with this team. Just fits in. At worst, it's a push. With Simmons being 4 yrs younger, I give him the edge. I hope they resign Irving to the max to be honest. He may be damaged goods like Wall before too long.

If we win, can we declare the end of the 76ers dynasty?

Just as fast as Alshon's drop in New Orleans ended the Eagles' dynasty

Smh.. I don't get why people keep saying this. In my opinion he has been awesome as a Sixer. Never tries to do to much. If needed he'll be alpha, take a ball and win us a game, but if not - he'll just work his ass off on both sides of the floor without demanding a ball. I keep seeing this takes (on our board too to be fair) and I honestly don't get it.

Because everywhere he's gone he's been an a-hole off the court. Even just during that film session, where he screamed at the coaches and stuff.
I think getting Harris was an insurance policy in case Butler leaves, since paying all 4 guys will basically cause an astronomical tax bill and you won't have anything to build a team around those 4 besides minimums and the mid-level exception.

I think this game will be telling of weather or not this team can work moving forward. If they play with heart and grit, I wouldn’t even worry about a loss. If they get blown out playing selfish ball, I’m guessing this team doesn’t want to work itself out.

Yeah, I don't see that, at least here. I couldn't care less about screaming, we have high character players, not cry babies like Towns.
I want us to resign Butler (I think 4 star level players is more that enough to contend, you can always find role players in draft/trades/buyout), but I won't have any problem if he walks. It's his right to choose where he wants to play and we'll still have Harris rights and max cap space.
And as I said, I think he has been awesome as a Sixer, that's all I care about.

Agreed, Butler is not a guarantee after this year. We got some young players who will be rotational pieces and a few players in Europe. Also, still got plenty of draft picks. Sixers are set up nicely regardless, here. Tobias is the keeper for sure. Butler is icing on the cake if he stays.

I've been a lurker all of these years. But It's a good time to be a Sixers fan & appreciate this fun squad we've put together. Long time coming. It's sweet!! Enjoy the game tonight.

No Baynes. Good luck. He is the new Al Horford of the defense. I looks entirely different when he plays.

Butler reminds me alot of WR Brandon Marshall who was a BEAST, but ultimately ended up rubbbing everyone (coaches teammates, management etc) the wrong way
These 2 perform at very high levels much of the time, but also seem unable to place team before self much of the time .. neither one consistently lives up to the same standards that they demand of everyone else around them
In short, both are super talented but both are extremely exhausting to play with, coach and even be friends with
