The Playoffs--Would you be upset?

Post#1 » by WuriderX » Wed Feb 13, 2019 1:20 pm

Would you all be upset if we made the playoffs this year? I really believe that if J.C. was healthy at the start of the season we would definitely be in the hunt if not the 8th seed. I know that its a long shot but is is a testament to the fact that we did what few teams have done and that is hit on all our draft picks for 2 years in a row. Look at how long Phoenix had been in the lottery. They got the number one draft pick last season and they have a near max player on their roster---and they still suck.

Where we are today, I want our top 5 pick, plus the Dallas pick.
Team still needs talented players to add to our budding core.

I'd be okay with it if the young guys were the catalyst.

We're still likely to get a lottery pick from Dallas and, as Trav is fond of saying:

Exactly. I hate to bring in the GS comparison, but they didn't take ANY of their guys in the top 5. TS has shown he can find value anywhere, and I've got complete faith in him. I mean, damn... he's drafted so well, its screwing up "the process"

I prefer to be top 5 in the lottery with the hopes they we win the Zion Williams sweepstakes.

I wouldn’t hate it, good experience for the rooks and we’ll still have the Mavs’ lottery pick. I’d rather have our own top 5 pick AND that Mavs pick though.

:D

We almost did. Injuries happened and we didn't. Winning is so important to a young team. Experience is so important.
Doing well in the lottery and the draft is so important.

Like the dog chasing his tail. Round and round we go. We need more good - great draft picks. We need to make winning
a habit. Over and over again. Our youth are learning how to play this NBA game and they will all be better next season.
No, I wouldn't be upset. And, I sure won't be upset next season or whenever it happens. And, it will. Experience is a
great teacher and our rookie players and our rookie coach are growing together.

The finished product will be great. I just know that it will, don't you??

I much rather have our 42% chance at the top 4 and make the playoffs next season than get the 15th pick and get swept in the first round this season.

I'm with the others in the camp of top 5 odds at Zion>First round exit

I'm definitely aiming for the playoffs next season, however.

I"m greedy. I want Zion. The buzz will go through the roof if we land him even if he isn't a superstar. I don' tsee us getting him but heck stranger things have happened. Plus i think not making the playoffs will make these guys super hungry to win next year. I don't want to sneak in with 36 wins

Yep. Don't need to add anything to this. Just nodding along.
