I know I'm right. I'm sorta amused how he and others beat their dead horses equally as hard as i.

Also, Oladipo down might facilitate Beal trade ...but I don't care.

Just like the callous insensitivity I'm experiencing from many.

It is what it is.

Nobody's perfect.

God is good all the time...even when Dahmer types are murdering.

My son Kendall is 18. If he is alive. Likely is but system and world have flipped.

Politics and how much stuff you have...wall (Mexican not Wallstar)...discuss.

I'll die like Edward G Robinson in Soylent Green.

Today I feel free

Nobody gives a despite we do faux care
..

Thanks God

Preciate you CCJ. Sorry it's hard times coming down like an avalanche. You know we on here to bust on each other and clown for the entertainment of the crowd, none of this is worth taking seriously as life. It's a relief to bitch about things over which we have no control. Yeah it'd be cool to have any sort of influence. It's gratifying to be proven right in retrospect. But ultimately its the use of a few brain cells just trying to outguess the future. And if any of us had any better brain cells than we got, we wouldn't be Wizards fans.

As for the topic at hand. You talking bout Boogie Cousins right? You got a soft spot for a Big Guy with mental issues :) I think many of us wanted him here even despite the record of the teams he has played on. I never thought his injury would shut him down, his game is not run and jump, its power and leverage and bad attitude. The only thing that gets in the way of a HOF career for big boy is that mental aspect. He does what he wants to do and thinks he's better than he is at the skills that are not his greatest strength.

But still, I miss the era when his type of skill would dominate games. And I have a feeling there is something there the game is missing in this Golden State era of outside in ball. Room for a renaissance in force basketball, A counter to small ball, that takes advantage of offensive rebounding. Except now they made that less significant too with the 14 second reset after an Offensive board. But something about free throws and putbacks and backdoor cuts and a center who can pass and defend. I thought we were going to see it with Boogie and the Brow on the Pelicans. But so far, nope.

Anthony Davis could revolutionize the game though if they used him right. If Popovich had him he would be Tim Duncan times Bill Russell.
Things tend to be cyclical.

Big ball has to come back, eventually. Either that or the rim will get raised to 10'6" or 11". Then the big guys will once again own the paint.

Oubre has also been blessed.

Right now, Portis and Parker are building up their value for when they are with different teams.

The Pelicans hiring of Danny Ferry puts me in mind of the following:

Ernie Grunfeld turned...

the # 5 pick in 2009 (sometimes called the Steph Curry memorial error),
the # 17 pick in 2010,
the #23 pick in 2010,
the #6 pick in 2011,
the #18 pick in 2011,
the #34 pick in 2011,
the #46 pick in 2012,
the #3 pick in 2013,
the #38 pick in 2013,
the #4X (?) pick in 2013,
the #18 pick in 2014,
the #46 pick in 2014,
the #19 pick in 2015,
the #45 pick in 2015,
the #14 pick in 2016,
the #44 pick in 2016,
the #22 pick in 2017,
the #52 pick in 2017,
our 2019 R2 pick,
our 2020 R2 pick,
our 2021 R2 pick,
our 2022 R2 pick

(IOW 4 lottery picks (a #3, a #5, a #6 & a #14), 6 mid-R1 picks, & 12 R2 picks) into...

1. Slightly more than 1/2 a season of Trevor Ariza (followed by his being an unrestricted FA)
2. 28 games byJabari Parker (whose enormous option we will not pick up & who will become an unrestricted FA)
3. 28 games by Bobby Portis (whom we almost certainly cannot afford to re-sign)
4. 56 games by Sam Dekker (whom we seem not to value at all & whose option we likely won't pick up, making him unrestricted)
5. The rights to European league player Aaron White who will never appear in an NBA game.
6. A 2023 R2 pick.

We've neither had, nor will we ever have, any other asset, any other benefit of any kind, from Ernie's work detailed above. & since of # 1-4, only extending Portis (if we can afford to & decide to) &/or extending Dekker (if we choose to) could conceivably be said to come from that long, rich list of pissed-away assets. More likely what we get for all that is only the rights to Aaron White & the R2 pick down the road.

Of course, we may sign the unrestricted Ariza, or the unrestricted Parker, or even drop Dekker's option & sign him unrestricted. But none of those deals will be the product of the truly extraordinary asset giveaway over which Ernie has presided in the last decade.

Good luck to Danny Ferry & the Pels.
