Ex Laker Stattracker
Tonight:
Clarkson- 42/8/5
Russell- 36/7/8
Deng- 13/8/4
Zubac - 16/7/1
Nance - 15/16/4
Good job good effort!
Earlier this week:
Randle - 31/7/3
Bryant - 26/14/4
Clarkson and Deng I don’t mind so much, Russell I understand why we did it (but was mad at the time). Randle/Zubac/Bryant idk those hurt a bit more.

Re: Ex Laker Stattracker
Russell is the only one making a key contribution on a team with a (barely) winning record.
He, Nance, and Randle are probably the only ones that might see decent minutes on an actual contender.
But yeah, hopefully the Lakers give the current young guys time to develop.

Meh~~
Don’t miss Clarkson and his ballhogging brand of basketball.
Don’t want to give injury prone Dlo a 22+ million contract extension this summer.
We also added LeBron as FA. What is his game high number?
Love the addition of Bullock who hustles our there. Love to have 2-3 of him out there.

This is a clear example why we should be patient with our young ones. We drafted teenagers so don't expect them to be superstars after three years. The ones we gave away are already starting to blossom. So it's best to think thoroughly if we are still willing to do the same with our current young core.

I Remember when we were shopping those guys teams didn’t even want to give up a 2nd round pick for them. Now the narrative is Lakers made a huge mistake trading them. Now its going to be the same narrative once Magic trades our young guys. It’s like LA is a curse for young players...

We're becoming the Orlando Magic of the West in developing young guys. I'm talking about the 19-20 yr old one and done's we had, not late rounders which we usually nailed.
Absolutely piss poor job. I'm 100% sure the underachievment is not entirely on them(players), but some of the blame is on the FO/coaching staff as well.

That's my line of thinking. There has been some talent (outside of Lebron) that's come through our team in the past few years. Maybe getting a better coach to develop them and not tunnel-visioning FA would be a better approach.

Letting Randle walk for nothing and attaching Russell to Mozgov 2 years before you needed the space makes absolutely no sense. And the thing is: A lot of people here knew it.

Hire a shooting coach first and foremost. If we are keeping Lonzo we need to fix that shooting form of his and everyone needs to learn how to shoot free throws.

Including 2 made three pointers.
The guy's been a monster all season. Should still be a Laker.

Not a curse, its more like Laker Hate. Other fans love to hate on our players. Its funny to me how they say we overrate our players, but the truth is we are actually very harsh on them because we expect success quickly. So those other fans take a lot of joy in severely underrating Lakers players.
For Ex-
Is Tatum better than Kuzma? Yes. But not THAT MUCH better. Other fans tend to think Tatum is a generational talent while Kuzma is a rotational player. Truth is, they're very identical.
Lonzo Ball? I dont think he's great, but he's certainly not a bad player. He's a triple double threat every night with surprisingly good defense. But he's not a bust by any means. He's going to be a lot like Ricky Rubio, who has had a pretty good career thus far.
Brandon Ingram? He's still 6 years away from even scratching the surface of his prime. He has a 15+ year career ahead of him which will likely include a couple of allstar appearances. He gets underrated because he was compared to freakin' KD right out the gate just because of their similar lanky body types. Its not fair for him. He probably wont even be as good as PG13, but he's going to be a fine SF for a long time.
Other fans just hate while we are impatient. That said, Id trade them all for a superstar, only because of Lebron's window.

Re: Ex Laker Stattracker
Not getting value for Randle is the only one I'd change. The Russell move netted us LeBron and Kuzma and rid us of a nightmare contract. I'd do this move again in a second. Zubac wasn't going to get any run here under Luke. The run he was getting was just to pump his value up for the Davis deal.... that much became crystal clear when we traded him for trash as well as the way we played Bogut over him last year.
Randle's situation was different. We tried to trade him a couple times and couldn't get takers. It now looks like NO will let him go as well after trying to trade him. That is at least interesting when you look at his stats...... why does no one want those stats? There was something else going on here is the only explanation I can come up with. Not getting some value for him was a mistake.

Re: Ex Laker Stattracker
Zero regrets about any of the moves. Clarkson was overpaid and unnecessary, Nance wasn’t going to get the same deal from LA that he got in CLE, Russell was a necessary move to dump Moz, trade worked out for both teams. Randle couldn’t even net a first round pick for LA and apparently NO couldn’t get anything for him either.
Only ones that might be regrettable are choosing Zu over Bryant then dumping Zu, though I’d expect any regret would be minor.
