Smart Jerseys. Change the name and number on the jersey with an app! Pretty cool! Sorry if this has been posted already, just saw it today!
Yet even amid the suffering that results from sin...god's love is revealed.

Clearly so you can always have a LeBron jersey whenever he signs elsewhere.

Seriously though, it’s kinda cool. I would not be super pumped about the $80 in-app purchase every time you switched a name and number.

I wonder if one can put any name and number on the shirt. You know like name: TimesIFartedToday and Number: 24

Yet, if one was wearing a jersey that said Ross on it and he was having a bad game while Fournier was having a great game, they could change the name on the shirt toward the popular player of the moment. Much like fans here on RealGM change their tune game by game.

They would make it affordable.
It seems like they want a piece of microtransaction app bussiness pie.
You propably buy a jersey with one name and number in app lets say Isaac and you get it with your jersey purchase .You want Bamba one? You buy that style in app and I bet it woudnt be cheap.Whats good?No need to produce many physical jerseys as you produce one and just sell styles and numbers in app.

In the future. Technology advances with time and what is at first considered only for a selected few reaches the masses before you know it.

Silver said it won't be in stores for 20 years, which should give an idea of how far they are from making it affordable...

I’d rather Adam Silver spent his time trying to make the NBA into a league where some level of the parity that he claims exists actually does as opposed to messing about with a jersey name change app.

You can't really force parity in a sport like basketball though. Insanely hard compared to football or baseball, even hockey.

sure but I think fans and microtransactions are the target and in 20 years such jerseys may be affordable and pretty common

I agree you can’t force it and I’m not asking for all 30 teams to have a chance every season but you can do a hell of a lot more than what’s actually being done.

The reality is the NBA, despite having a CBA and salary cap, is no more competitive than the Premier League where the richest and biggest clubs are the only ones with a chance of winning the league (Leicester being the once in a lifetime exception a few years back).

The NHL has a better model but the NBPA will never agree to a hard cap.

There's always a market for this kind of stuff. Just like iPhones, I know of loads of families that make the minimum and have 3+ kids and complain about having no money yet buy the expensive version of everything on credit so...yeah.

I would rather be able to eat Rib Eye steak a couple times a week than buy a trendy tech gadget. I like to spend my money on adventure type things like Hiking or Mountain Climbing excursions, going diving or fishing in the ocean/lakes around Florida, music. I am hoping to hit Egypt this year to visit the Valley of the Kings as I am really into ancient history as well. Memories/experiences last longer than toys.

I was fairly addicted to buying music gear on craigslist. You name it, guitars, bass guitars, amps, pedals, mic's and drumming vst's. I was outta control for a while. I am thinking of unloading some on ebay at some juncture. I own Dean, Kramer, BC Rich, Traben and Ibanez guitars, lol. Outta control.
