How can anyone hate the guy? Just lame people. He has given us 2 rings already...

Maybe we should have a Kevin Durant Appreciation Thread now.

Going to East would be perfect for him...less competition to the Final...opportunity to form his team. Even if GSW offer him the most money, he rather leave to NY instead of adding more rings. He is on a mission to prove the world he can win without Curry, Klay, Green.

I'm sure we will be entertain with the media in NY :)

The East is a bloodbath now my friend. :)

But I think KD will be appreciated by most if he gets the Knicks back to the winning circle. Tho he needs to take them beyond first round at the very least. ECF or final with the Knicks would be very good achievement given how strong the east at the top now and considering how bad the Knicks were for a long time.

It really depends on how much help the Knicks can surround him with but I think he will be fun to watch their regardless. He will go slim reaper mode more often.

I think GSW, Knicks, LAC all can be good options for him but obviously GSW is the safest one for sure. Knicks and LAC are higher reward/higher risk kind of options. They could be worth a try for him tho. Who knows. I'm really liking LAC due to Jerry West's amazing work there.

I would actually say the east is more competition once you get past the 1st round. I rather go through HOU, OKC, DEN than TOR, BOS, PHI.

Need to take into account in the East you can rest and stay healthy for the playoffs. .500 ball is #6 seed. If your team is a contender you can easily rest/cruise throughout the season and still get home court.

In the West it is not possible to cruise. Any hiccup you are not even in the playoffs, let alone home court. In the West you need to go 100% all season (and risking getting injured and tearing groins), and there is no 1st round sub-.500 teams for you to toy with and get warmed up.

One of the podcasts I listened to today, it might have been Bill Simmons and Ryan Rusillo, said KD and Kyrie were playing footsy with each other at All-Star weekend.

More momentum for the KD and Kyrie teaming up in NY speculation.

I'm partially with chris broussard on this topic.
Assuming GS threepeats, KD should sign 1+1 with the warriors, move to the new arena and go for a fourth title in a row. That's something only bill russell and the celtics have accomplished (but ages ago, where the game and the league itself were completely different, today it would be definitely harder to accomplish than in the sixties), neither magic, bird, MJ nor kobe have ever done it.
Then, after helping the dubs enter the legend of this sport from the main door, he has the "permission" to go to NY and try to do what nobody hasn't been able to do for what, the last 45 years?

I said partially agree because I personally think that winning 4,5,6 or more (never put limits on yourself :D ) consecutive titles would be "greater" than winning one title in NY (or L.A. clippers side), so KD should sign with the warriors long term not 1+1 and basically finishing his career in the bay. But many people think winning 1 title in the big apple is the ultimate accomplishment in modern NBA, so I could comprehend KD's decision in case. comprehend but not undertsand

Exactly. Ive said he can have best of both worlds. Always go with the safe bet. Meaning staying with GS for a 4th at their prime is most likely route. Another reason why Durant will stay with GS and continue to win titles is that all of his haters will continue to hate him regardless. Even if KD went to the Knicks and won a ring, you think the same people who call him a snake, cupcake, rings dont count, etc would magically say wow KD is best player in league and legit? Of course not. They would simply say whomever KD joins up with in NY is reason why he won. So, KD might as well stay in GS, win 4 straight and do something thats never been done before in modern era.

Greg Papa really went in on KD on his radio show today for what he called “unprofessional behavior and bad leadership”...apparently Papa said that Durant isn’t even involved in the huddles and instead is walking around far away from them, talking to security guards, under the basket, at half court, ect. Anyone who attends the games notice that? I haven’t been to a game in a little while.

I’ve noticed all of it..overall The team chemistry has fallen off a cliff..but this will all pass once KD is out..Steph-Klay-Draymond still love going to war with each other

KD on the bench with the hoodie and the mask over his mouth so he doesn’t have to talk to anyone.

I think in the playoffs the chemistry will rise. It's hard to get motivated for RS anymore really.

You may be right. I’d prefer KD stay....but he’s looked miserable this year. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear like he has any interest in being here any longer than he has to...

None of the East teams scare me. They are all pretenders, we'll smoke em.

The West teams are the real deal.

I'm getting so tired of all the KD bashing on the radio lately. I have been a fan of the Warriors since the mid 80's and suffered through all the losing and want to enjoy the winning while it lasts. All they want to talk about is any drama that they FEEL exists on the team. Maybe KD leaves at the end of the year, maybe he doesn't. I just want to watch the team go for a 3 peat and deal with next year, next year. Now they are going to beat the whole Draymond switching to Klutch Sports to death. It is like one long episode of "as the Warriors turn" every day!

David Griffin said that they’re not connected, that despite going 18-3 or something like that, there’s a weird energy, especially coming into and out of huddles, strange looks between KD and Steph.

It makes no sense he’d walk away, because he’s not going to find a better basketball situation than here. Kyrie may look better to him when they’re flirting with each other during the all star weekend. But what are they going to do, take turns going ISO, become the Rockets of the East?

But whether his new team would be better doesn’t seem to matter now. He does look miserable and doesn’t want to be here. So he seems already out the door. I guess that’s why he signed all these 1-year deals like Lebron did before he bailed on Cavs.
