I feel like he will play in the playoffs if we make it. Our opponent will not be expecting it, we can steal a game or two.

I don’t like that idea. Just like I didn’t like Jameer coming back in the finals.

Well, there are 35 total votes right now for "He will not play this season".

I guess that says something for fan expectation.

37.
2 voted never

37/55 don't expect him to return this year. That's 67% of votes.

( for a record i voted next year, not never  )

Crazy thing is that, if he does not return this season, it will mean that nobody saw him play basketball from mid-late November of 2018 until September/october of 2019.
From possible 7872 min that one player could play in two full seasons ( 48 min total, 164 games) ,he played 680. Split by 48 min in 33 games, he at average played 14 min per game in ones he did play and 9% of total possible time .

Assuming he won't return this year, it will mean that he wasn't part of regular basketball life ( trainining, playing game, rest , repeat) from February 18, 2017( last college game ) until somwhere in October 2019. That's 32 months= 960 days.

His Philly stunt was everything but progressive continuity , played first 4 games in rookie season, until Oct 28th - out until late March, plays 15 games ( last 3 games 23 min total ) - out again for rest of season.
This year- plays 19 games - out again.

if he is healthy by summer time, he should play Drew league or something just to get into playing rythm once again imo because so much time passed by without it.

If the Magic team doctors and Fultz’s therapist in LA deem him healthy enough to play, then he really should start playing the moment they give the green light. He needs reps.

That said, I could see Clifford not wanting to rock the playoff chase boat by trying to integrate Fultz or Bamba if they’re ready before the season is over.

The Magic have a good thing going right now with...

Augustin/Fournier/Gordon/Isaac/Vucevic
Briscoe/Ross/Iwundu/Birch

Not sure if Clifford will really be looking to mess with that group as long as the playoffs are within striking distance.

I think he will play this year.

What are the odds that one of DJ, Briscoe, Ross, Fournier, Iwundu, or JI miss time because of injury?

He could fill any of those player's minutes.

Hopefully Bamba is ready too, injuries happen. If Vucevic missed significant time I'm not sure Birch could hold down the fort. He looks around 6'7" and has a tough time against bigger centers

im actually preparing myself to not see him till next NEXT season. my gut tells me the rehab doesnt work and he will require surgery which will scratch him off another season. I would love to be wrong though

I highly doubt he plays this season or the playoffs (assuming we make it). Plus, we all learned with 'meer what happens when someone is rushed back for the playoffs.

I don't care if he ever plays, at least we got rid of a very selfish and reckless player

I voted mid March. I think he is healthy and ready to go. But the tough thing is incorporating him into the team right now while they are so red hot. It's tough to justify rocking the boat atm until we cool off. It's a shame he wasn't ready as soon as he was traded because there was a ton of garbage minutes to be had in all those blowouts we had.

I would kind of like to see him vs GS. Who the hell cares we probably lose that game anyways lol. House money.

The interesting thing is we have Philly 2 more times and we are @ Philly in 2 weeks. If he is healthy and ready to go do you wait till after the Philly game? Too much bad mojo too soon? Or would he be motivated to kill his former team? Lol interesting.

I voted mid March though. I think we are going start to cool off and come back to earth in the next few weeks. We go to Toronto then play GS then @Indy and @Philly with winnable Knicks and Cleveland mixed in. After this run I think we will have cooled off enough to justify throwing Fultz in for Briscoe.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...
