Re: Around The NBA X
Consensus for FA as of the All-Star break is:
-KD+Kyrie to the Knicks
-Kawhi to the Clippers
-Klay stays in GS
-Kemba stays in Charlotte
which leaves:
-Butler/Cousins/Vucevic
someone will pay max to those three, but should the Lakers? would depend on what happens with AD, which should be known by the end of the moratorium because if the Celtics trade for him it would probably be before the draft due to the draft picks involved (although some of those 2019 picks look like they might not vest). Man, the end of June is going to be interesting.

Re: Around The NBA X
Question, if AD tells Boston that he is only a rental, what does Boston offer NO for a trade?

IMO, if AD doesn't soften on the rental aspect, I bet its Hayward/Smart and picks... No Brown or Tatum... That's my guess anyway.
I also bet the word out of Davis' camp is going to change about the signing long term thing too... I bet he continues to insist he's not signing anywhere long term, just to keep the scent of collusion off of the deal. So when we inevitably go all-in again, it'll look like we're stupid...

Nike murdered Zion... Just like that, the draft class looks ass...
Nike: "We can't make a shoe that won't kill the future king of the NBA, but at least these new Kaepernick Jerseys are fire!"

Re: Around The NBA X
Cousins rant on the NCAA got me thinking... The big knock on the NCAA is that the players don't get a taste of all the money they generate for the schools... "The Players get NOTHING." is the rallying cry...
This is essentially true, and I've been on that train for a while now... I do think the NCAA is crooked... I do think TO A CERTAIN EXTENT, they are exploiting the players...
But what I think may be getting lost in all this is, essentially College Basketball players are Majoring in Basketball in college and hoping to graduate into the NBA...
My daughter is applying to schools right now... Basically all the top schools in the country cost around $70-$80k a year to attend... They play for a year and get showcased for all the schools, they build their brand on the schools dime... Then they enter the draft and cash in, in a major way...
Hard to put a number on all that, but for a 1 and done like Zion, that's probably a $100k-$150k easy, opportunity, all free... Tax free as well...
Sure, the school makes millions, which they use to fund things like Girl's Lacrosse, which gets no funding... Or even Girl's Baskeball... Which is tragically underfunded... Hell, even things like Swimming, Rowing, Tennis, Golf...
All that on top of the improvements and reduction in costs for the General Students...
Maybe the administrators are still getting rich, maybe the Coaches make way too much money, but still, my sympathy level is decreasing exponentially...
I mean, it's not like Zion wouldn't be playing basketball if the NCAA didn't exist... But would he have the opportunity to go to any school in the country without the NCAA, for free?
It's not really the NCAA's fault that these kids are basically just interested in using them as a stepping stone to the NBA.
Did Zion need to play in College to get an NBA contract? Maybe not... But I guarantee you, he's going to make a hell of a lot more now in salary and endorsements, than he would have if he'd entered the draft at 16 or 17...

Lopez just hit his 134th 3PT on the season according to Kevin Harlan.
Magic signed Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson instead of him.

Does he have that many rebounds or attempts at playing post defense?

Draymond on the books for $18.5M next year. Maxing Klay and KD, if they decide to stay, would cost GS a boatload in luxury tax. If the Lakers strike out on a max FA, I could see GS trading Draymond into the Lakers cap space to save a huge sum. Would provide flexibility to sign AD into cap space in 2020. Would be pretty funny to see Lebron and Draymond team up.

OKC coming off double OT last night to play Sac today. King's catching a crucial break.

It's been fun watching Russel single handedly dragging this lackluster supporting cast to the playoffs.

Re: Around The NBA X
I miss zubac.
FO must have been high when they did that trade.
ONly reason why I wasn’t that bummed about not getting AD was because of our nice center rotation.
McGee, Zubac, Chandler is probably one of the best in the league.
Zubac gives the team versatility and some old school low post presence.
Not only we downgraded talent wise but it might have affected our young cores trading value.
FO definitely dropped the ball on this one

His max starts at the 5/$150M+ range, I wonder who's going to offer it.
